  1. Hey...

if Valencia have indeed just purchased Del Horno ---those Ayala

whispers might just truth.. (He says as it all sinks in)

(if your being sarcastic then ignore what follows and apologies in advance, its very hot and my brain works slower as a result)

    :wstu:

    Why? Ayala=Centre Back....Del Horno=Left Back

  2. Kompany had some great sayings on signing for Hamburg. (about Lyon) "I felt that they were saying ' We are Lyon, you must come and play for us, on our terms'". About Chelski it was something along the lines of "I want to play regularly and there's no chance of that". A very promising young player. I'd dig up the link, but I really don't feel up to it. Sorry!

There you go. Factory! :D !

    Also Del Horno to leave

  3. Yes folks that was the worst one ever.

Not a single memorable England moment from the tournament.

Oh well we have Steve Maclaren to look forward to.

Joe Cole's goal from way way way way out v Sweden? Gerrard's goal v Trinadad. Crouch's 'accidental' hair grab v Trinadad. Terry's wonder clearance v Trinadad? Forgotten those?

  5. Emerton was shocking!!! didn't kno he could work that hard, he was deffo one of australias best players tonight!! and with all the close ups the producer gave him on the telly I'm starting to hope for a multi million offer from a stupid club this summer ;):tu:

I think Neill played a good match as well, he bossed the aussie defense well all game

IMHO i believe Neill was MOM. The tackle on Ronaldinho in the first half was exceptional as was the challenge in the second half(Adriano, Robinho, i forget which), then to see him shimmy past Cafu and with his left foot send in a classy cross was just great to see. I only hope no other club managers were watching, unless they offer 10-12mil for him

  6. Whilst many have hyped up Riquelme as the epitome of a playmaker, I believe a good defensive team could shut him out of the game with close marking. He has no pace and doesn't track back. The Serbs gave him as much time and space on the ball as he wanted.

i agree with you whole heartidly Rover6, Riquelme goes missing for large portions of the game but then retains his inflated reputation through a couple of exquisite moments, Saviolas goal V Ivory Coast being an excellent example(MGP anybody?).

For me, a perfect midfield playmaker is Kranjcar of Croatia. Not quite as many devestating monemts as Riquelme but keeps the midfield ticking over with sharp ranged passing, positive running, excellent first touch and vision. Would love to see him in a Rovers shirt as a replacement for Tugay.

  7. SHEV the start of your message states about injuries to the strikers.....

why in gods name did he not take extra strikers then..???

Because if he'd taken one or even two of Defoe/Bent/Johnson/Beattie then he wouldve had to drop a couple of midfielders or defenders and then people wouldve complained that the depth in those areas was too thin. Your only allowed a 23 man squad. Unless you think Owen and Rooney shouldve been left at home?

  8. I feel really sorry for SGE at times like this. His team have won the first two group games for the first time since about 1890. For the first time since 1998 weve scored in the second half of a world cup game, in fact we scored two. In neither of the two games so far have we looked like losing and only looked like conceding once(thank you John Terry!). He was brave in his squad selection with Walcott, Lennon and Downing. He got a plan B, C and D if his plan A isnt working, which hes been critisised for not having in the past. Get off his back! So what if as a person hes boring and dull, who would you prefer Keegan? So what if weyre not doing it the Real Madrid way of we'll score one more than you(hows that been working out for them in the last couple of seasons by the way?). Weve qualified from the group against two teams who play very, very, very defensive with little or no attacking thoughts.

    Stop whinging for god sake!

  9. I think we can be certain to see SWP start on Tuesday night which means MGP will have to be lively doubling up to cover Micky Gray.

I'm in two minds over the Nelsen injury. I wouldn't be that surprised if Sparky is playing games and Nelsen turns out tomorrow night. On the other hand, the Neil/Zura combination at the centre ought to be able to look after itself and Reid/Bentley down the right could be a promising combination.

I'd like to see Gally on the bench for this one.

I think a largely reserve Chelsea starting XI could well be more of a problem for us than the team that turned the Mancs over so easily at Stamford Bridge. It would also mean a win for the Rovers would be devalued and instantly dismissed by the press.

    403854[/snapback]

Count agree more with each point you make pal. I'd like to see how Gally pairs up with Bellamy. IMO their link up play could be awesome.

Also, i couldnt care how much the media devalue or dismiss any rovers victory. Chelsea could play their under 12 team, all that matters is us getting three points.

  10. Toms summer shopping list.

    St.

    N.Ellington. 13 starts, 8 sub, 8 goals.

Hes young, can finish, good in the air, quick, would pair up very well with bellers(everything Kuqi isnt.)

    M.Forsell. 9 starts, 10 sub, 7 goals.

Only possible problems would be wages and his injuries.

    Rm

    J.Pennant

Only if Hughes thinks he can stop him getting drunk and breaking things or driving.

    Md.

    Jarosik.

good passer of the ball, scores goals from midfield, 7 this season.

    NOT DAVID DUNN.

    Lb.

    Arca.

good going forward, creative and intellegent but not so great defensivly.

    Julian Gray.

We were linked quite heavily to him a couple of years ago as a replacement for Duff, he went to brum + was asked to fill in at Lb for a while. Looks impressive in that position when ive seen him(could provide cover for Ped)

    Matthew Taylor

May be a bit expensive but has scored 5 goals so far this term, solid, solid player.

    Thank you,

  11. Must confess the booing of the Welsh Anthem was so bad, I turned to watching the Scotland game. When are the English going to grow up?

Grow up? You didn't like it so you spat the dummy and changed the channel? Almost every nation will boo the opposition national anthem, especially in a game between two countries so close together.

Im sorry phillip but what england games have you watched lately? Each of the qualifiers + the friendly games i watched i heard no booing during the opponents anthems.

Today it was only because of the media egging on the fans with all that "slay the Dragon" rubbish + the fact its one of the home nations. Scotlands anthem`s all about how they hate us and, one day, will return to slaughter those b*****d english F.F.S. Its the same as us singing about those Bu***ey folk, its just local rivalry and i think its fine. tinykit.gif
