  1. This seems to be the general opinion but I don't get it.

I could understand it back in the mid-90s when we were obvious rivals but we're on different levels now. I don't see what there is to hate about them. A proper football club with a glorious history, they play terrific attacking football and have some world class footballers who are good professionals - Scholes, Giggs etc.

I find much more to hate in the odious Chelsea, arrogant Spurs, delusional Newcastle and the whinging Arsenal who you aren't allowed to tackle, defend against, score against or do anything which interferes with their exhibition football.

How did they get Roy Keane? <_<

  2. EDIT - According to the Manchester Evening News...On Man City's pre-season tour of China Thatcher elbowed an opponent who ended up in hospital with a punctured lung. That was only a few weeks ago.

That's true. Just 3 weeks ago, when City played their pre-season game in Shanghai with my local club Shanghai Shenhua, he injured a player of Shanghai with a very similiar challenge, and that guy almost end his football life!

  3. Whats his Premiership goalscoring record?

Hmm...He is quick but not as fast as Bellers for sure, but he is also strong and reminds me of Andy Cole. I feel he misses far too many before he puts one away.

If its for about 2 million then its a good deal. The closer it gets to 3 million the more risky it is.

34 apps and 8 goals. He is strong and fast but he doesn't have the skill that Bellamy has.

Now let's bring in a big name. Comon Rovers!

  4. biased chinese commentator story!

    www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/tm_objectid=17302607%26method=full%26siteid=94762%26headline=a%2dbit%2dbiased%2dmy%2dold%2dchina-name_page.html

Actually I don't know what he said when I watched the game, he works for Chinese Central TV Sports(The National Media) and I watched the game from Shanghai sports that night, but yesterday morning when I went to my company I got the news from my colleagues and the internet.

In the last 3 minutes when Grosso dived in front of Neil he began to screamming hysterically, made biased comments and kept on screamming to the end.

You can hear what he said (in Chinese) with the link below:

    http://2006.sina.com.cn/bbs/2006/0627/0127726.html

After that, widely debate broke out on the internet here. Someone think his biased comment was a totally disgrace to the National media, but still someone who follow the Italian football accalim for him.

Last night, before the Chinese Central TV Sports lived the Brazil Vs Ghana game, he made a official apology for what he said in the game through a letter read by one of his colleague here(himself is in Germany now). But I think he was forced to do so, and the letter was not write by himself.

  5. As for Juve, what I interested in is whether Rovers will rush in the bargain for some of their best players if they are forced to be relegated. Suppose Zlatan Ibrahimovic play in blue n white alongside Bellamy.tongue.gif It sounds crazy and impossible but it's really exciting! rover.gif Wish the board could back Sparky if such excellent players are available.

As for the scandal, I believe there are such scandals in the football circle all over the world, but most of them have never be disclosed and will never be disclosed, I think some so called "big clubs" in Premiership have done the similiar things in the past years with their money, power and background.

  6. Oh, another thing, Pongolle looks a really good player, I like him a lot.  I think we should keep Bellamy and Pongolle at the club, get rid of Dickov, Kuqi and Gallagher and look to bring in two top quality, tall and powerful players.  Pongolle and Bellamy looked very good together today, but there is no physical presence.

Agree with you, every time Pongo was on with Bellamy always creates lots of chance, much better than the other two, the difference in quality is remarkable. I still can't understand why Hughes didn't let him on in the late 4 games before yesterday(Perhaps I missed something on this messageboard, but I didn't got the news that he was injured). If he was on in the last 4 poor games, we may still have been in the chase of the 4th. sad.gif

Year after year I was tired of the disappointed performance of the Rovers striker force. Until Bellamy came, the best striker we have after we back to the Premiership was a talented but not strong enough and injured Matt Jansen, an old and sometimes low motivated Andy Cole and a half season miracle Jonathon Stead. The rest of them was a totally joke, donkey Grabbi, studhorse Yorke, headless fly Dicov, elephant Kuqi, soft Gally and a list of names like Nathan Blake, Marcus Bent, Egil Ostenstad ... mad.gif I really missed the SAS striker force when I just began to watch Rovers 10 years ago, sharp, powerful, fantastic and unbelievable. Only rely on Bellamy is not enough, the bringing in of Pongo is a good mark, and what we need now is a tall, powerful and quality striker, what we never have since Sutton's departure(Of course, elephant Kuqi can't be count).

I should say we did a good job in the game but the poor Charlton side still have some chance. We still have a lot to improve.
