  1. I'd say he gets selections and subs wrong more often than he gets it right. I'd wager that if I was put in charge of Rovers now (assuming I had a footballing background and thus would command at least a bit of respect from the players) that I would make the odd correct selection/sub. And that applies for almost everyone.

One example I use as to why he is certainly lacking tactically. When I saw us play Norwich at home. Olsson and Redmond on Norwich's left flank = lots of pace and overlapping. So he plays Baptiste RB with Cairney on the wing. Cairney, as a natural CM was clearly going to get sucked inside and leave Baptiste exposed. A couple of times Olsson got in behind due to this but luckily nothing came of it, and even more luckily Baptiste had an absolute stormer.

It was obvious to a blind man that this would happen yet Bowyer seemingly didn't account for this. Little things like this make a difference over the course of the season and, forgetting the consistently inverted wingers and the hoofball tactics, I think he has proven time again that he just doesn't have the brains to outwit the better managers in this league (which explains our record against the teams above us).

Your example in the Norwich game is totally valid. What I noticed and posted at the time on here was TC openly ignoring GB instructions to the point where he actually gesticulated and muttered under his breath etc... I feel GB has very little respect in terms of manager to player relationship. Mates with too many. New manager please

  2. Went game.

Miss 3 hours of the 1st day. But still kept up to date with the game via Sky Sports app on phone and what Cricket writers and Jornos were saying on Twitter. Modern technology for you. Haha. Plus listened to Radio 4 LW coverage on way and back from Ewood Park.

How more questions Abbey about it???

3 shredded wheat this morning Chaddy?

  3. Thanks for that will be good to see

Thomson is one of the lads with the first team squad recently after being released by Carlisle earlier in the season - did he look up to it?

Oh eck, we're getting Carlisle cast offs now are we....? It's a known fact that their academy isn't much cop....we seem to be descending into preparation for lower league football. The under 21 are a bunch of cloggers, anyone seen that Carson in midfield ? Captain and I have a bunch of 16 years olds with better technique.

    I worry.

  4. It's a world of nepotism and back scratching. The number of ex-pros kids now coming through is a disgrace. I know of one kid at Notlob who is the academy managers son (ex average Notlob fullback), and he's nowhere near the level required but cos dads been there for a while now, he's a first year scholar and due to his dad's connections will almost certainly make some kind of career. I know for a fact that more talented kids have been let go before him.

It's happening everywhere and I see it being a real talent killer as more and more money comes into the game and more and more ex pros get their mates to sign their kids....it's a feckin joke actually and I'd stop the academy system immediately and start again.

  5. Shanti lounge is no great shakes, but not poor either. Its a bit overpriced for what it is, but theres not a lot of competition on Buckshaw to be fair. Can't wait for the harvester to open, then we'll have 3 rubbish pubs to choose from, and a very overpriced poor italian.

Must visit that Chinese in Astley Village soon, good reviews on tripadvisor.

Yes, the new pub on buckshaw is like a canteen at butlins. Safe to say that upon my first visit I promptly turned the family around and went to the travellers rest just out of euxton towards croston. A nice surprise too.

  6. Don't live to far from the Shanti lounge, I find it expensive and like all the other takeaway's in Chorley that we have tried it is bland in comparison to the food available in Darwen and Blackburn.

As yet I have never had a bad meal at the Raj on Bolton road. The Khyber is still knocking out great take away food as well as the ones in Darwen.

Apparently the Voujon in Chorley is the best in the town, not had chance to try it yet though

I live on Buckshaw and that shanti lounge is poor fayre. Once got a kebab roll and I was starving after it. Tiny. They think everyone local has money to burn,

Bangla Spice is my Indian of choice at the moment just down the road there from the Hayrick/woodsman.
