  1. I wish AW all the luck in the world. A great little player who should reach the very top. I imagine his dream (like mine and probably everyone of us) was to play for Rovers in the Prem. The frauds that have run this club for over a decade have denied a generational talent of that dream.

“ The Blackburn football Club model”  - We will now see what it really is. Is it the Brentford model that has been quoted ? Spending good money on decent up and coming prospects with a view to making money on them in a couple of years ? If this is not the case, and we are still dragging unknowns from boxes in Woolworths doorways hoping they can work some magic and make a player out of them then the frauds have been found out and this model is just dog sh1t to pull the wool over the fans eyes again.

We know the usual excuses about late player sales don’t gives the chance etc but we also know GB said we have replacements lined up for all positions, manager, trainibg staff should they leave.

This is the time we find out what our club is really about !!!!!

In the end some deals happen, some don't. I imagine rovers target list was very large, very well researched and was already in place prior to arrival of JDT and GB.

The fact styles has gone on loan with no option suggest no-one met Barnsley's demands, so they keep the asset and send his wages elsewhere., whilst picking up a loan fee.

Transfers is an ever revolving dartboard. We tend to hear about the ones that happened, the ones we were linked with, but very few of the ones we moved for.

Names would of been getting thrown at rovers for weeks, discussions have gone on for weeks with the ones we actually got.

I'm confident the information was correct,

This window of all windows has been the hardest to get really good information.

As some posters will confirm who i chatted with off line, we discussed a number of players. I knew Hirst was happening Saturday, but having been burnt before i was unsure if to post it but opted to do so, as its a discussion board.

I knew we were in for a player from abroad and that was going to happen, (did post it on here) but just couldn't get the name, it was water tight.

I didnt have any inclination on Szmodics or Hyam, until it came out.

I knew the asking price for BBD was £20 mill plus add ons, as that had been communicated to me, I also knew that was non negotiable and maintained throughout he would be here come Saturday.

I think going forwards we will hear less and less regarding transfers, which is exactly as it should be.

I think/hope going forward that the signings will be all tied up in good time ready for the window to open and will be done and dusted for at least a couple of top long term targets. With the new structure in place then that is achievable. We now have football people running this side of the game as opposed to criminals in the past.

  3. Pickering has took some knocks on here but I thought he did well tonight. Got a bit of cover but played well.
Trav did a decent stand in at RB and still found time to shithouse.
Carter and Dom slotted on well too.
with a couple of additions tomorrow we should have a decent squad if we can keep BBD , worry about his free transfer next year.  If we go up it might be a different story. Ei ei eio

What if he gets an injury or loses form? Putting my Rovers allegiances aside, I think he'd be mad not to grab this opportunity. It may never come round again and then you regret it forever.

If nobody puts the cash up tomorrow and If he got a bad injury and out for a year and not quite recover his form then they might not all be clambering so his contract would see him good. Works both ways. Wish the lad all the luck whatever happens. He looks so happy at the moment though, would be a shame to go to a relegation prem club and go missing or be on the bench. Suppose our wage structure makes it very hard to get him to agree a new deal. Hoping for a decent day tomorrow.

    Wolves had a stadium full.
Boro have a stadium full and have sold 30M quid worth of players.
Hull are in year 1/3 for FFP so can afford to spend.

FFP restricts clubs like us. The reason why Venkys don’t do things like repair the stadium is because Waggott spends almost every single penny they give him on the squad. He won’t ask for more money because his sold job is to hit the agreed budget. The ambition starts in the board room and they’re all on easy street.

Could Venkys not buy 10,000 season tickets for their friends ?🤣

Cant a sign on bonus that would compensate the player for his exess wage demands be used?

A mate of mine supports City. When their owners came in and wanted to get big quick without the fans/ revenue that’s what they apparently did. Decent wages with massive bonus  money that couldn’t fail to be paid, this in turn got the players up to the money they wanted during the duration of the contract. It’s only the actual contract that counts and not the bonus money if what he told me is correct.

bowler was light years ahead of everyone on the pitch yesterday, ffs get a bid in

Totally agree. We miss a Rothwell type player picking the ball up just in our half and driving at teams. He would defo do that.  Probably one of the best in the league at doing that. Should be all out to get him but read somewhere we went in early and messed things up by pissing around, plus prem interest now. Would love him here though.

  8. On a plus note Phil Jones not in the Utd squad tonight … he coming home he coming home ……

Sorry , got to keep myself occupied with yet another year of uncertainty after all the hype and hope around the GB & JDT. Appointment. Rome wasn’t built in a day but Rovers need to be in the next 10 days. Quality is a must. Untested kids or lads from abroad take time to adjust, we need players to hit the ground running, although signing an up and coming decent striker to replace BBD next season would be nice. 🙏🏻🔵

IMO Pickering he was very good first half of last season before he got injured. He was a  key part of our run up to 2nd, and when he got injured at start of Jan it coincided with our collapse of form. Since he came back he's been poor.

I'm hoping his struggles are temporary as he gets back to fitness and finds a bit of pace.

I agree. Thought he was decent until his injury. Struggled when he came back after injury

Dolan is deceptively slow for all of his energy and enthusiasm. This needs to be the season for him to really come to the boil, his contributions are too fleeting in terms of his end product, hopefully he can push on.

Absolutely. There is a difference between running at a full back with trickery and pushing it past them and ruining them with pure pace.
