Not at all confident.. so lets go a positive option 0 - 0... clean sheet AND we go through
-
Any one remember the 5 - 1 victory there late 80's.... someone hit me in the head with a housebrick when the 4th goAL WENT IN... OH HAPPY MEMORIES... i think
same result would be good!
-
while a win away would be nice, Id be happy to get a solid unbeaten run together, nice little 6 or 7 games unbeaten.. so I'd happily settle for a draw... I'll go 1 - 1... Lucas Neill (well why not)
-
Much as I respect what he has done to raise the profile of football over here in Oz..
LES MURRAY... you are crap as a commentator... please dont do it again
-
totally (well almost) off the topic but with bolton having to play brum twice in their last 10 or so games reminded of the promotion season (80/81 ?) when we played Bury in our last 2 games of the season.. won away 2 - 1 (to gain promotion) then lost 2 -1 at home.... cant remember how it worked out that way but we did have a decent cup run that season..
-
its on at 10:45pm on SBS.....
originally SBS had planned to show both semis live with no delays, guess they didnt think it would be a stupid kick off time in the UK so now they are delaying it by 2 hours, im guessing so as not to clash with AFL, NRL etc on the commercial channels
-
okay im feeling hopelessy optimistic..... (6 pints at lunch) so 2-0 to the blues
who cares who scores
-
must have been the crap beer you guys were drinking, i stuck to the trusty VB all night and felt right as rain.....
look foward to catching up with you all again
-
okay the kick off time is pathetic EXCEPT for us based down in Oz who usually get treated to 2am or 4am kick offs..
semi will kick off 9:15pm on a saturday night down here, and its live on normal (ie not pay) tv, couldnt be btetter
every cloud has a silver lining as they say
-
last train is around 1am so its kind of irrelevent unless you leave at half time...
first train sunday is around 7am so that will be the one for me...
-
I fully intend to last the entire night and happily weave my way home at around 6 am after the bolton norwich match.... so its a question of pacing myself carefully... oh sod that, lets just go hard
-
PG
Lats time i was there it was pretty much all CUB with a few irish /english ales thrown in (tetleys and killkenny spring to mind)..
anyhow Ill proabaly watch the liverpool match there on thursday morning so will give afull update on beers by friday !
-
okay boys
8 pm it is, should be a great night.
rovers shirts are manadatory i think
-
blueboy...
dont suppose you can bring a tape of the burnley match(es) back with you ?? we could even get the charles dickens to show them as a warm up for the arse game...
-
Im feeling quite confident about this one..... so 0 - 0 it is
-
Im getting very, very nervous about this one now...
to put it simply WE MUST NOT LOSE.... the score, I dont care.
-
SR....
keepers arms is a good choice but unfortunately if Celtic have a game live that night it will be shown instead as the Celtic suppoorters club meet there... pretty awesome sight mind you, walking into a packed pub where EVERYONE has green and white shirts on (except me)..
My suggestion would be the Charles Dickens in the CBD.... Other suggestions are welcome (but not the casino)
-
bobby svarc or joey craig.... both a real let down in the late 70's when rovers almost broke the bank to sign them... craig was an international in a good scotland team as well...
could think of dozens of others...
-
we need a win desperately ... so an optimistic 1 - 0, don’t care who scores
-
not optimistic. 1 - 1
-
Earlier in this thread it was mentioned about rovers attendances, while we aren't great, lets not forget all clubs go through good and bad patches, its based on a multiple of things, not just performances, for gods sakes some clubs attendances go up when they get relegated... you know the situation, poor performances in relegation season, suddenly a burts of optimism when they go down, cus of a few good signings and its all sweetness and light again..
As for ups and downs, does anyone remember a friday night match at chelsea ? just over 7000 attendance in the mid late 80's (Faz''s record appearance in rovers shirt ) as i said things do change, fans are and can be very fickle... it isn't just small town clubs !!!
Just for the record speedie scored a cracker from 30 yards for chelsea !
