Loan? Get fucked.
Surely this is the best option. Assess his ability and if we are keen come the end of the loan we can take up the sale at a pre-agreed price. Good business if true.

I might be in the minority here but for me, we have missed his presence on the pitch. Of course he has his weaknesses. Personally, I don't think he is physical enough for his size and his aggression for a striker is poor. That said, I feel we perform better when he is on the pitch and I would like to see our win record with him in the team as to when he is not. 1m or 1.5m is too low in todays market.

Didn't Mulgrew score directly from a corner 3 times in our League 1 season?
It was 3 times but in The Championship not League 1.

Generally speaking across football corners must be the most overrated thing in the game… yet fans go wild every time the ball goes out for one!

I think I may be in the minority here but I genuinely believe Ben Brereton will turn out to be a great player.
He looks a complete different player post lockdown, it is clear to see that the only thing he is lacking is confidence in front of goal.
I believe when that goal comes he won't look back.
He looks stronger, quicker and glides with the ball.
Keep the faith!
Well I’m glad this prediction turned out as expected. I posted this when the man didn’t have a goal under his belt that season. A lesson to be learned - back the players and the team COYB!

Raya was a bargain for Brentford at £3 million when we sold him.
Genuine question... Where would Brentford have finished last season with Walton in goal instead of Raya?

I think he's been decent, but I'll make one prediction: if nothing has changed before our game against Bournemouth next Saturday, expect to see Williams playing at centre-back alongside Lenihan.
No chance.

Yeah but I think @Richard Oakley might have the frame of reference a little wrong.
I doubt that Marshall would go into what surely is our top 1/3rd of earners. Isn't Dack currently on about 15k and thats near the top of the tree?
20k p/w is very much of the higher end for Championship players apart from the odd outlier.
I think if you look at Bournemouth, Watford, Norwich, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday, Derby, Nottingham Forest (to name a few) they will be paying their top asset more than 20k p/w.

It will be nowhere near that.
I think it's fair to say he will be offered close that from other championship/premier league clubs. Especially, if he decides to run his contract until its end.

The club has a 1 year option on Dacks contract, which you'll imagine they will exercise, so it's basicly 2 year left.
That's good news then!
I wasn't aware of that, thanks.

I see,so Nyambe's contract expiring at the end of next June comes as a surprise, does it? The only fitness issue is that Nyambe wants a contract that fits with his importance in the team.
The thought of losing somebody of Nyambe's quality on a free is frightening. On his day he's arguably our best asset.
We seriously need to be working hard on getting our key players to sign new deals, ideally before the season starts.
Isn't Dack's deal up at the end of next season too?

Is there any news on where Tosin is going next season?
Surely won't be competing for a spot at City just yet.
There seems to be no speculation on his next move and no mention of him coming here for another season again.

I don't want to be known as ITK. However, my good friend who has strong links at Wigan believes the deal with Kipre is pretty much a done deal with us.
I hope he's right.

Daily Mail reporting it now. Not exactly credible. However, thought I'd share.

You have poor judgment so. Steele was truly abysmal in every facet of being a goalkeeper.
In my honest opinion, in a Blackburn Rovers shirt Walton has been worse.

If promotion is a genuine ambition this season or next the answer has to be "No".
For me, he is by far the worst keeper we have had since being relegated from the Premier League....and I've watched Jason Steele.

Not sure if this has been mentioned yet. However, I have been informed Holtby has checked into Stanley House this evening from an employee I know who works there.

Out of interest, What would be the better transfer window?
Our current signings and presuming we sign Gallagher for 5 million and a keeper on a free/loan.
or
Bauer on a free, Harrison Reed for 5 million and keep Raya?

Just now, roverandout said:Done whats expected of them. The minimum. Promotion was the bare minimum. Surviving in the championship was the bare minimum and that was touch and go at one point. Don't hail mowbary as some great coach who has worked wonders. Basically, he's 'mr minimum'
"Mr Minimum". What an insult that is.
I think you forget the state of the moral of the squad, fans and entire community before he was appointed. I for one, can say that it finally feels like being a Blackburn Rovers fan again and it's took some years to feel that way.
The owners clearly trust him and this has shown by the significant transfer fees he has had since taking over.
I think his biggest downfall was spending the money on Bretherton. If that transfer didn't happen I think the general consensus of the fan base would be that last season was a success. However, unfortunately (and understandably) people felt that money could have been used to strengthen other areas of the squad.
The grass isn't always greener and for me and I don't think there is many managers out there who care as much for their club as Tony does for us.

I find it more amusing that it has taken a post like that on a BRFCs forum to make you post your 7th comment in two years. Surely there has been plenty more controversial over the years?
I'm a positive person 'pal' so try not to get involved with all the negativity on here.

Are people really offended by somebody referring to them as "pal".
I'd be surprised if any of you have any with an attitude like that.

Andy saying up to 5 million dollars = £3.9m. Not too bad. Yes, we pay more if we take it up. However, worth the risk if he isn't up to it for me.
