  1. I don't know whether to be overjoyed at this latest development or or seriously depressed.  On the one hand, it could hasten the end of Venkys' ownership of the club, either by sale or administration, followed by regeneration under new ownership.  On the other it could be the beginning of the end - receivership, followed by winding up, expulsion from the EFL, , sale of remaining assets to pay creditors and formal winding up.  Or, as I suspect, Venkys will stubbornly hold on for as long as they can, dragging the club down into League 2 via League 1 next season or the one after, until there's very little left for someone else to build on.

On balance, I think "f**ked" adequately sums it up.  Hope I'm wrong.

It won’t happen. And even if it did then it would counterproductive as our fans would be marked down as disloyal.

So those that care and are passionate enough, attend & protest at the game -  peacefully at this stage from the stands and if there is no acknowledgement from the club then it escalates at the next match, and so on.

It’s clear to me now that there is only one way our club is going under the stewardship of Venkys & CEO Steve Waggot. Either we take action now or we stand feebly by and watch the club we all love crumble before our eyes.

Positive action is always better IMO

Sady we've tried that before and it didn't work.  (anybody remember the chicken on the pitch?)  I think the only way forward now is administration.  Anything we can do to hasten this, such as significant media interest coupled with the threat of ever-worsening ticket sales, could help.  Boycotting doesn't sit well with me either, but the longer we as fans continue to tip over our hard earned cash to these clowns, the longer the agony will be prolonged.

Forget all this rubbish above from a Supporters Group I’ve never heard of. They don’t speak for me or the majority of the fan base.

It’s time to protest and the Wrexham game; high profile given the opponents who incidentally have amazing owners who care about the club and the community it is part of; and also is on TV - all be it BBC Wales. Who knows, even Disney+ might be filming!

Who’s with me and what’s the plan?

Most effective thing, given the match is on TV, would be if nobody turned up at the ground to watch.  Can't see this happening though.

If it at the end of every game we can answer the question " Did we give that game our best shot " with a yes,  I'd be happy. I don't expect miracles but I expect every player to give 100% to the team. Hand on heart I can't recall many games in recent seasons were I've felt that. Too many are falling into the trap of thinking they can prolong their careers by playing within themselves.

Agree with every word TS.  Manager and players need to give of their best, and they aren't doing.

Do you think this squad is a top 6 squad? Genuinely? Never! We have a couple of good players and a team which works as hard as they can. If we get into the top 6 then we will have overachieved.

That doesn’t absolve the manager. He’s had some money to spend and whilst he’s spent well on a few, his two major signings have so far fluffed their lines and he will live and die by that.

The points total absolutely does count though mate. Because that is the true measurement of any progress.

Have we got a top 6 squad?  No.  Have we got a team which works as hard as they can?  Looking at the last three performances, I don't think so.  Has the manager spent well?  Absolutely not.  Will he live or die by it?  Doubt it - he's gotten away with it so far.

I covered that by writing that they are already extremely wealthy. This wealth, combined with an ingrained lack of ambition and fear of performing at a higher level entirely negates the lure of a promotion bonus. It isn't 1983 at Rovers anymore. They are being paid more than they could possibly spend compared to the likes of, for example Baz Rathbone and Terry Gennoe.  Both of whom would have given their right one to have a crack at the top flight by the way.

    The hunger simply isn't there.

I hate to say it but I think you are spot on CS.  Yes, the managers and players will have promotion bonuses written into their contracts, but most of them know that if the team does get promotion they will be shown the door.  So why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs?  All they have to do to keep all that lovely money rolling in is to stay clear of the relegation zone.

We have to be more ambitious.  And the first step to doing that, in my opinion, is to find and appoint a new manager who has something to prove and isn't content with simply collecting his pay cheque at the end of every month.
