Anyone else getting a 404 error on the club staff page...?
-
I was talking to a Doncaster Rovers supporter last night who has bought a season ticket at Donny for next year. He was telling me that if you can't make a match there, providing you give them 24 hours notice they will refund the cost of the game to you as club credit.

Don't forget that PNE had a problem with people purchasing Children tickets when they adults. PNE didn't check for number of games before they change the turnstiles entrance for adults only and children only
We have a problem with people buying tickets full stop...

The last few games have been different and today the penny dropped for me as to what I think is a fundamental difference. The last few games have seen some interplay between the centre halves but not the full backs who are pushing higher up as this is happening. Invariably it's a two v one with the centre halves against a central striker. That means that our opponents can't press too high as their wide players are deeper to stay with our full backs. Prior to a few weeks ago you could have tethered our back four with a piece of string and the full backs were involved in the square passing.
Clearly this is not the only change as I believe the tempo and intensity is far higher than it's been for some time but this and some other subtle changes have been huge in my view.
I think some of the difference is that although the full backs still get involved, it's more the position they get involved in. When we have the ball Pickering and more likely JRC tend to drop into the deep midfield position. This creates two things; it gives the central defenders an extra option there and strengthens the midfield position. But it also means that they won't be boxed in if they receive the ball in a traditional full back position. What was noticeable earlier in the season was that teams would press our full backs there once they received the ball and had nowhere to go.
Obviously there's far more that's changed leading to our upturn in form, but this is one tactical tweak I've noticed really since Rotherham.

Odd how they manage to get the paperwork correct when it's outgoings...

And to cap an awful day some of the morons who purport to follow Rovers were out in force embarrassing themselves and the club.
Embarrassing on and off the field today. Morons spending the game looking at opposition fans... And the fucking idiots stood in front of me who'd spent the morning drinking Dark Fruits were no better.

All we'd had all week was "we know how important it is", "we've been told what it means to the fans" etc, etc.
Well I dread to think what sort of performance would have been served up if nobody had told them...

There is absolutely no fight or passion in this squad and that's been years in the making.
When was the last time there was a foul against one of our players and we surrounded the ref.
Too many years of bothering about tattoos and what music they listened to.
We need a few nasty bastards.

Good to see Nyambe getting forward and looking a threat

Buckley doesn't necessarily need to bulk up. What he does need is to strengthen his core. That'll make the world of difference to him.

oh well, so much for Klopp knowing what he was doing.
Yes, I'm sure Liverpool would much prefer Mowbray in charge...

If you look at the possession you will find that The top 4 in the league finishing table was all in the top 5 teams in possession. The other team in that was QPR. Rovers came 7th in overall possession stats over the season.
Here is the link to support my points above.

Is there a stat anywhere that shows where on the pitch the possession was?

Drinks break and Mowbray is just sat in the stands. Absolutely robbing a living.

Raya mention the Brentford GK coach as one of the reasons he signed there. Again, not really a vote of confidence for our set up.
And if Mowbray didn't want Benson to stay as GK coach he would have replace him and not offered the job in the 1st place Financial?

Working under a new coach? You mean the goalkeeper coach who.left Brentford for Arsenal during season.
I'm not sure what this has to do with anything, but I'll bite...
Surely if the goalkeeping coach has been poached by Arsenal then this goes some way to show how highly rated this coach is.
And the guy who replaced him has actually played professionally as a goalkeeper.
Neither of which seems to apply to our current gk coach.

Or the well rehearsed tactic of Walton booting it up to Armstrong time and time again?

Apart from perhaps Travis and Lehihan we have a team full of losers.
No "bottle" in this team whatsoever.
