The part about Kean is ridiculous.

Kean was given the top job when his prior experience and knowledge didn’t warrant it.

He was given the job in a “cloak and dagger” style way, used as a method for getting certain agents players into the club and ultimately into a shop window.

On top of that, he wasn’t humble, he wasn’t a good tactical manager, the squad looked unfit, fell out, one by one removed and replaced by a “Bradley Sore”

Most Rovers fans would find it insulting to hear he “no different” in response to a bloke who effectively tied up £100 million+ In wages before he “resigned with a pay off”...

The annoying thing to read on this website is, in my opinion, people who don’t realise what a “bad manager” is, don’t remember what damage Kean and Co did, and don’t respect just how difficult and long it’s taken to be even within touching distance of the playoffs.

Mowbray has done a wonderful job for me, even if I think it might be time up for him next summer if we’re mid table come May - one of the most wonderful aspects of his impact is helping people seemingly forget just how bad it was back then!

There are a lot of conspiracy theories about what happened back then but where's the proof? Hearsay is inadmissible as evidence.

As a supporter, I don't think turning on the owners or the current manager is ever the answer. It defies logic to think anyone at the club wanted us to be relegated. Instead of working together, the camp was split. A house divided against itself cannot stand.

  2. I find it hard to hate any manager tbh. I think every one who comes here does their best. Like anything in life sometimes it just doesn’t work out. Kean no different.

I think the protests were well-intentioned but misguided. It sowed discord among our fanbase at a time when there should’ve been a concerted effort to back t’Rovers. I certainly wouldn’t deny anyone their right to protest but ultimately what did it achieve?

At least it’s all history now.

You don't like making direct comparisons yet you've confidently stated Mowbray is the best manager of the last decade. To come to that conclusion you would have to have direct comparisons to all of the managers in that period.

You talk of Bowyer being a victim of his own success, what success was that? Mid table in this league is not success.

No, it’s a fact that Mowbray is our most successful manager. Just look at his overall win percentage and ppg.

Bowyer finished 8th and 2pts shy of the playoffs at one point. No one would’ve expected that of him.

He has done no better than Bowyer, in fact probably not quite as well. He has basically got us in the same position that Gary Bowyer did only via a different route way as Bowyer succeeded where Mowbray failed and kept us in the Championship. Also Mowbray has spent a lot more money than Bowyer ever did, in fact Mowbray spent more on just Gallagher than Bowyer during his entire tenure and Gallagher isn't even Mowbray's most expensive buy.

As for centre back's dropping like flies it was obvious with the injury records of Lenihan, Ayala and Williams that we were going into the season a centre back light yet rather than rectify that he signed 3 goalkeepers instead.

I don’t really like to make direct comparisons between managers because each one inherits a unique set of circumstances. Fyi, I probably wouldn’t have sacked Bowyer either. An underrated manager who was victim of his own success.

  5. Good goalies are hard to find and kind of a crapshoot. Friedel was playing second fiddle to Calamity James and was something of a joke at Anfield. Look how that turned out!

I think the scouting team have found an absolute gem in Kaminski. The guy exudes calmness and commands his box well. You can see he inspires confidence in the rest of the team.
