There is a video on YouTube taken from the away end which shows Brereton in all his cowardice.

It also has video taken from behind the gaol of the goal itself. Pears doesn't cover in any glory.

It's not the best quality but clear enough

The balls lands within the 6yrd box, Pears has to be claiming that rather than standing rooted in his line. BBD would be more use stood on the half way line

He looked like a guy who hadn’t been in that position for a while - edgy.

Pears blasted it back to Pickering as if to say “;For fucks sake, you’re an outfield player, do something with the ball “.

What does my head in is when one of the players has an off day they all come out in sympathy.

The players should have seen that in the keeper and gone at him, but we didn’t and never created enough.

If you are blasting it back to your own player on purpose then that’s inexcusable, knock it to the half way line or beyond and then bollock Pickering.

I’ll be honest we were not up for it tonight, you have to be at it on a cold night in that shit hole and we simply weren’t.

Did you see him in the tunnel before the game ?

No I watched it live at the ground, what was the keeper doing?

On keepers did you see the massive air flap by Pears and then the smashed pass/drive back to Pickering in the first half. If anyone looked a bag of nerves it was ours. Can’t fault him in the last 4-5 games but tonight he made me very nervous.

In general we were piss poor tonight

  4. My favourite player is Dolan and I love his attacking flair but he cost us for the 1st two goals, switched off and didn’t fully track back. What pisses me off is our manager is on his wing in the 1st half and wasn’t telling him! He has to do this and for me that’s not acceptable to me. Let’s face it that performance was shit, the score line doesn’t reflect the performance, could and should have been a bigger defeat!

Bad day at the coldest ground in the world, hopefully results go our way tomorrow and we go again Rovers!

For me, Sheffield United ARE the dirtiest team in this league bar none. I agree 2 should have been sent off today(and at least one in the home tie with Spurs which I watched on t.v.).

I think our young lads play with no fear which is really exciting to watch(a bit like Fergusons Class of 92). You probably wouldnt  get these explosive counter-attacks with experienced old stalwarts clogging the side up ;it would be just too slow.

Thought Dolan, Travis & Carter were all sensational today. Quality fitness levels.

A big shout out to the coaches at the Academy. They are clearly doing something right!

Says a lot about a team when their managers needs to stand in the stands for 3 games.

Gallagher and BBD would be just as terrible. Any combination of those players isn’t suddenly going to turn Sam Gallagher into a player, or Vale, or make Brereton play like we know he can. Brereton was clearly elsewhere last night. He’s definitely avoiding injury too.

Last night we had three defenders injured.

Just keep trying fly out of that window then pal…

2 wide players and Dack just off Gallagher or BBD is another option. All I’m saying is you have to try these things not just say they won’t work. Chucking Chris Samba up front for the last 10-15 mins of game changes things, shouldn’t really do it but it will change a game and put pressure on a team.

I'm saying that even if we played differently we'd still be lacking in goals, still concede goals and still play poorly.

It's a very poor squad with some decent players, and our only player capable of being a prolific goalscorer isn't giving it 100%.

Who scores enough goals for us to be significantly better?

The problem is he never makes any significant changes in a game, his subs are like for like. Last night they had 2 defenders injured and we continued to approach the game the same, we never attempted to make changes which could have impacted the game.

We are short on quality up front but have never tried playing Gallagher and BBD as a front 2 with wide players. It’s like watching a fly trying to escape through an open window, never learns and keeps hitting the glass instead of going through the open window

He can't change things with that underfunded shambles of a squad.

I disagree, are you saying that the way we played last night is the only way we can play because it’s underfunded. I’m talking about the style of football, he can change things and go more expansive with what we currently have.

Dolan and Thomas on either wing a central striker or even 2 would be a significant positive change. But hay you can do that basic change without massive funding

You can argue they already haven't. That I find very frustrating - attracting people of his calibre to the club was hard enough, after this I imagine impossible.

I’d prefer see a coach who isn't scared to change things, having a proper go (attacking with intent) at home especially against a team who is bottom of the league, his calibre means nothing when we are churning out performances like this.
