Gent should definitely be given a chance in pre-season to prove whether he should be in and around the first team squad

Interesting we let our sixth best player at the time of loan leave for Ipswich for 6 months.
I'm guessing he benefits from having played only the first half of the season before our performances tanked

Tyrese Campbell sounds very similar to the Ennis deal last summer. On paper that deal worked out as bad as he was here. Signed for free and sold for a tidy profit six months later. All be it Campbell has been playing at a higher level, he could be a calculated risk. Unfortunately I think he'll get other, more appealing options.
It's all too predictable that Ennis' single league goal this season came against us

We're 5th worst on the number of expected goals prevented. Pears is -0.1 per 90, Leo is -0.16 per 90

Where does this put us for the three year profit and sustainability window?
Edit: I've just taken a look and for the past three years we've had the following losses:
20/21: £6.6m
21/22: £11.2m
22/23: £20.9m
Which comes to £38.7m which is just below the £39m losses allowed for a three year window. Suspiciously close if you ask me. Also leaves us with only a £7m buffer for this season's losses.
Unless I'm completely misunderstanding how it works.

Looking forward to seeing if some of the youngsters can cut it in league one next season.
Maybe even Telalovic will get a goal or two.
-
Going to be some tired legs out there, would be happy with a point.
The two games after this are huge, anything less than six points there is a failure.
-
Whatever happens I hope this gives the players some confidence for the league

Could do without a Wharton injury

Ball is going to a Blackburn player, deflects of the ref but still goes to the same Blackburn player, ref decides Newcastle should have it?

Might as well get Telalovic on, see if the premier league is his level

To be fair Tronstad is injured, Buckley is recently back from injury and staying in the league is much more important than this game

Anything that might embarrass the owners is good news

Just worried in the disparity in quality on the bench between us and them. Will probably be a factor in the second half

Buckley was loaned out due to financial reasons
Sure, but he was the one of multiple options chosen to be loaned out

Doesn't seem to have played much football over the last couple of seasons. 2 substitute appearances for the first team and 15 games for the B team in the Spanish 5th tier. Which is the equivalent of the English 7th tier given the way the Spanish leagues are structured.
We already got a guy like that from Germany, it hasn't gone so well.
