"Det er typisk norsk a vaere god".
typical of a norwegian to be good!
thats right..
We are not do-gooders! The correct translation would be: "Its typical for a Norwegian to excel!" The phrase was spoken by former Norwegian PM, Gro Harlem Brundtland, after the usual Norwegian success in a skiing World Championship back in the 80-ies.

I would play Tugay instead of Thompson, but although MGP is a natural left winger this formation might actually be worth a try. Both Tugay and Savage are able to make goals from a distance, and MGP is obviously hot inside the penalty area.

If you ask Ferguson, Wenger and Mourinho about MGP I´m sure they would all say, looking totally surprised: "WHO???" Get real, ManUnited came over to watch him at six or seven games last spring, which was one of the reasons why Tromsø did not accept BRFCs first bid in June. "The big clubs" are certainly following him closely!!

Reid and Pedersen to score, 2-0!!

ZAM.
Consider my allegiance (sexual and otherwise) changed. See, I am supportive:
After Bellamy11 has swallowed his humble pie, will you please remove your signature (on different message-boards) into something more constructive, Mr. Cuidado? "I-told-you-so" is not funny when repeated innumerable times...

Favourite team besides Rovers: Tromsø, Norway!! Like many Scandinavians, I have one favourite English team in addition to my local team. This is like having a regular mistress in addition to your wife, which I´m sure everybody would agree is acceptable?

For the record: Mortens father Ernst never played for Viking/Stavanger. He played for two other Norw. PL-teams: Bodø/Glimt and Vålerengen.

I was in Copenhagen Sunday watching my Norwegian team Tromsø play FC København (2-2). MGP was there, and he will also be in Gothenburg when we play IFK Gøteborg tomorrow. Yes, he has improved since he came to Rovers, but remember that even before that he was always chosen before John Arne Riise as a left midfielder for Norway, Riise plays left defender for Norway.
BTW Cuidado/djvice is not Norwegian - he is Swedish!!

The official Rovers site reports that Bothroyd might be fit for fight on Saturday, and back in the squad. In that case this is my team:
Friedel
Nelsen Mokoenna Todd Johansson
Emerton Savage Tugay Pedersen
Dickov Bothroyd
3-0!

And there's more Rovers in Mediterranean tonight. Encks is going start in our game against Cyprus. However, we are playing seriously weakened team, starting with strikers who play in Lyn (Norway) and Vaduz(Liechtenstein,Swiss 2nd division ) so not very glamorous but at least Encks is gonna have a little action for change.
A Finn talking down on the Norwegian PL? You make me laugh!!!

Here is my team (4-2-3-1):
Friedel
Nelsen Mokoena Todd Johansson
Thompson Savage
Emerton Tugay Pedersen
Dickov
This is the system MGP was used to play before coming to Rovers, it gives him easy opportunities to sneak into the box. 4-5-1 forces him (and Emerton) to stay out left/right to often.
Alternatively (4-4-2):
Friedel
Nelsen Mokoena Todd Johansson
Emerton Savage Tugay Pedersen
Dickov Amorouso
MGP is impressed about Tugays creativity and passing qualities, and loves to play with him on training sessions, why not give him a try? And Amorouso has good heading capacities, which is desperately needed up front. Everybody else has failed, so what do we have to loose?

"I feel we need to utilise MGP in a free role, similar to the Giggs role behind Nistlerooy last season......"
Having followed MGP for years in my Norwegian club Tromsø, I have to say he is one of the most typical left-midfielders/left-wings I ever saw, and it would be a waste playing him in other positions. Look what happened in the Chelski-match when he and Emerton switched places, he totally disappeared. Tromsø and the Norw. national squad play 4-2-3-1, with the man behind the striker in a similar role as you suggest for Morten, but also responsible for setting up the wing players. As MGP and Emerton are excellent wings, I agree that we should try to find a creative player with good passing skills to play behind Dickov. And in my opinion we do have such a player: TUGAY!!!!

I didn´t say that there is any truth in the phrase, and I definitely don´t mean it. We are a quite mediocre breed, I´m afraid!
