The article refers to class A drugs in general. Cocaine makes up most of the Class A drug use in the UK, and has relatively few fatalities which makes the statistics for Class A drugs in general misleading. If the statistic were for heroin only, it would probably be more clear how destructive it is comparative to tobacco.
Legalising cannabis is something I'm in favour of, as the current law criminalises a large number of people who are otherwise law-abiding citizens (the strong link between heroin and crack usage and crime puts these drugs in particular apart).
There maybe relatively few fatalities involving the likes of Cocaine but I for one would love to see the statistics of the people who have been killed not using drugs but by people who have been 'off their heads' on 'Coke' due to paranoia etc.

Anyway b*llox to all the other bands.. none as good as U2 or God himself Mr Paul Weller

Good Album that one - some good tunes even if they all kind of blend into one song
Yes I can see where your coming from. Some of the songs were quite similiar to others. It made up for an almost disasterous night. The communication or lack of it we received from Manchester Academy was terrible. They changed the bloody venue at the last minute from Manchester Academy but we hadn't been notified. If we had been late we would have missed most of it. I just wonder how many travelled by train and were then scrambling for taxi's!!!

Currently listening too the new Ian Brown album - you always know what your going to get from him - quality stuff. Would definitely recommend to anyone who likes his previous stuff
I work with Ian Brown's brother.. When we sit in meetings he always has one arm over the back of the chair and is extremely laid back almost literally. Wonder where he gets it from I love the Stone Roses brilliant band.

I went to watch the Enemy last night at Manchester Apollo.. If I'm honest I wasn't looking forward to it at all but it wasn't actually that bad. They sounded abit like the The Jam with a couple of songs they sang which is always a bonus in my book but I have to say I was quite surprised that I enjoyed it. One song that stood out to me was 'We'll live and die in these towns.'

Thanks, Kimberley I didnt see it until you pointed it out.
It's ok I do hope he gets re-instated

It seems you cant keep Mr.Savage out of the news. In todays Times there is an article about an incident on Rovers flight back from the match in Finland against Mypa when Savage who has a fear (apparently) of flying was invited up to the flight deck by the captain in order to calm his nerves. For this act of kindness the said captain has been sacked by his company for abusing security on board. Robbie has vowed to do "all in his power" to get the pilot reinstated.
That's correct there is a thread on it... namely... Sav And The Sacked Capt

first heard it down at norwich mid-week (those days are long gone!) some guy sang it in a pub near the ground.
Geordies use that too.. well not the players but their own version!

Yeah but carrying 15 stones on dodgy knees does give him something of an excuse. To his credit I rem he certainly wasn't lazy as a kid at Luton Town.
.. He was always the fastest one to the local Pie Shop!

we had enough chances in the first half to be up 3,4-0 at half time.
man utd had chances, but not many were clear cut. We had some great clear cut chances. it wasnt too bad an atmosphere with the fans. man utd fans didnt sing at all from my memory. apart from united united...
celebrated the goal well
i assume the blackburn end was rocking in the last 10minutes
as for the 2nd half, well i wouldnt know would i
Was gutted for you Scott.. must've been the whole USA flag thing.. id've just said it was for Friedel that's why you had it. Some tossers stewarding at away games nowadays.

I'm very surprised to hear people say that we were the better team in the first half and shocked to hear people say that it was all Rovers.
For fifteen minutes or so we were passing quickly and tackling well, and the game was end to end and quite entertaining. However, from then on West Ham were by far the better team and should have gone into the break at atleast 1-1, maybe even 2 or 3-1 up. Their midfield was just too quick and ours was static and hopeless - how many times did one of Reid and Savage just giuve the ball away with useless passing and control?
Well, that's how I saw it atleast.
We were without a doubt the better team in the first half.. but Todd didn't look comfortable defending Harewood from kick off
-
That's typical at all away games.. us at the back make all the noise whilst the ones at the front sit looking pretty. As for West Ham fans i didn't hear much singing from them in the first half ) and i guarantee you they heard our burnley chant lol

I wondered how long it would be before Andy Gray had a pop at one of our players.. not even past half time and he gets his dig in.. the smug ****, i'd give owt to smack him
-
In all fairness i think it was very harsh.. he got the ball.. the way gilberto landed made it look worse than it was. It was never a red in my opinion.
As I'm typing this i've just seen the replay and I stand by what i've just put.. for the first time in my life I find myself agreeing with Andy 'I love Manchester United' gray

I was taking an interest and lots of clubs have started to struggle, we commented lots last year. Newcastle, Everton etc.
Newcastle ?

I left my seat just a minute or so before the final whistle, so I didn't see the reaction at the end of the match. How did the players & fans respond? I hope we get right behind the team on Saturday and try and help give them a lift.
From what i saw shortly after i removed my hands from my face.. we clapped the players (well most of us did) and friedel came over the rest sort of flitted off the park clapping towards us
Disappointed Rover

Not a bad squad player but anyone with Todd as a first choice defender is in trouble.
More like what have YOU been smoking

Its only our first game and it's best to be positive but right now i'm feeling slightly suicidle. And now i'm home after plucking up the courage to risk my life by travelling on the tube, checking out every person that entered the train. I didn't even bother torturing myself into watching the game on football first. It's typical we get picked for game of the day when we get beat.
First half i was impressed, our passing of the ball was good and i had good visions of the season to come, i thought we'd win by 3-0 easy as i'd predicted.. BUT.. wtf happened in the second half is just completed unacceptable.. brett emerton is one of the most frustrating players ive ever come across and mokoena was absolutely SHOCKING.. i would swear but it would get removed. I have been very impressed with Kuqi in pre season and been very excited to see him play in the premiership but today he was dreadful. I'd like to add Grabbi to that collation of players the person before my posted (greg).
In all fairness West ham played some good football and deserved to win.. I just hope it was a blip and we learn from this in our next game against foolham
