1. Just been watching ramseys best restaurant on c4. Yu and you won best Chinese. Just wondering of anyone on here has been

Good but rather over priced when it opened but on the basis of my last (last being the operative word) two visits it's been poor to bad and by definition seriously over priced! Rumours do abound that there is some Walker 'influence' behind the restaurant.

Fact is that chinese lad would rather run a wine bar and disco than a serious restaurant. As for the Ramsey programme it is a complete farce and probably has plenty of strings attached.

  2. I bloody hate the winter 'hours'!

One thing that I have never understood which somebody with more intelligence than I might be able to 'throw some light on' is why given that the shortest day is Dec 21 and the clocks have been put back on the last weekend of Oct some 7-8 weeks earlier that we have to wait until the last weekend of March some 13 / 14 weeks after the shortest day until we can roll the clocks forward to BST. Surely to keep things equal the clocks should go forward in early Feb...... shouldn't they?

If we did that then maybe the winter would not drag on so long, we would not waste as much energy using unecessary lighting and maybe even the health of the nation might improve as the population would probably become more active.

  3. Isn't Dunphy the ex Man Ure fella?

I'm not usually one to stand up for Keane but in Dunphy's case it's definitely a case of the pot calling the kettle black.

He's an odious little gobshite who played most of his career at Millwall I think. He retired from football, turned to journalism, fell out famously during the World Cup with Big Jack Charlton where he lost any of the little credibility that he held in the Republic.

Keane and him were made for each other.

  4. But thats the problem, he never gets a free kick INSIDE the box. you can't imagine what this has done to him, he's only half the player that we bought. Theres a feeling at Goodison that he might chuck it all in and retire, when you see him coming off the pitch after being kicked all over the park and getting no justice, you might come to understand it.

Don't hold your breath licker. If he chucks in about 2 million a year because he gets no justice I'll swim across the Mersey. Maybe if he played in football boots instead of on roller skates he'd get more justice from all.

  5. Some very good players have been relegated from the prem. I'm sure you could make an excellent first XI. I'll make a start, not too sure about the defence but open to suggestions.

  6. The best player top ever play in Blackburn Rovers colours i just wish i had been old enough to fully appreciate him and the winning team in 94/95, all i can remember is him scoring a penalty agaiunst wimbledon and walking around the pitch on the day where they showed it off at ewood and when my cousin sed he had left to go to newcastle. sad.gif

No doubt he was one of the best players ever to play in the premier ship and a credit to the game.

    Well done Alan

  7. His best years were at ewood no one can deny that, won a premier league winners medal, voted best player in europe or whatever he got and he knocked in bout 102 in 124 i think it was.

He has scored a lot at newcastle but to no avail, no doubt the testimonial should have been rovers 94/95 v Newcastle now, his 2 fave teams.

Celtic is the worst decision i have ever heard. One of the best players ever to play in the premier league celebrated by a scottish team huh.gif

Rovers i think would fill upquite a lot of St James Park if we were to go, all the people that loved him at bburn would have gone.

  8. Don't make me laugh, after he refused to take his place on the bench under Souness he should never have been allowed to pull on the blue and white shirt again.

What a story, why should ha have never stayed again, it was only an indictaion of his passion to play. You cannot get rid of a player just because he fell out with the former manager. Its like people were calling for Barton to be sacked from man city after the incident with the cigar.

Todd had an excellent little run of games and then stupid souness plkayed amo insted of him. I would have been pssied off if i had been todd. Perhaps he reacted strongly but if a manger sold a player everytime there was a little fall out there would be about 4 players in each team.

  9. Theyre thick arent they? whoever wrote that article has clearly never played football before.

Its like that dcik on 5 live who was calling toddy after the semi final in cardiff v arsenal.

Van persie ran into him when he wasnt even facing him.

I don't recall any critisicm of players like Tony Adams, he pushed n shoved people all over the place, John Terry is a dirty player but there is no articles calling him a thug because he plays at chelsea and his history is pretty clean i expect.

Its like sav. He gets booked for almost anything because he has his reputation against him. Refs want to stamp their authority and so savage is judged by anyone who isnt a blackburn supporter and is always written about with a bad view.

  10. If anyone thinks we are going to get another player with the style and obvious brilliance of tugay, for the same amount as we got him they must be joking.

We were lucky to get tugay from the money we did and that was because he was fairly old.

I cannot think of any players that would do tugays job and would be around the money we would be wanting to spend.

Stillian Petrov is probably a little to attacking

Jremaine Pennant is a wide player

Dunny is overweight and never off the treatment table

gravesen will be a man utd player next year

There is no one i can think of who is anywhere near a tugay, only perhaps steed malbranque who i think will cost a lot of money.

  11. I am fairly sure no other prem team will be wanting to sign dunn except dunn and that this topic would have an easy answer for all people had he not been a bburn lad for all his life and been such an asset in his younger days.

You look at this season and he has been injured or played the odd game and got injured again.

Now why would any team want to pay probably a decent amount of money for a player who is always on the treatment table.

Forget Dunny he is nothing for rovers any more!!!

  12. Quote cn174

"They've been good in Europe all season - the style of football suits them. But it has been shown that when teams dont give them time and space in the Prem they struggle. "

I'm confused. Isn't that the same style of play that we got pilloried for using on 2 of the precious London teams last season?

  13. yeee, lets destroy the lives of the people that run them, that would be such fun ohmy.gif

Thats a bit dramatic slaterscott! It may affect their livelihood somewhat I grant you but hardly on a par with being told one is terminally ill, your wifes left with the milklady, or the winning lottery ticket went into the dustbin last week. rolleyes.gif

  14. when United weren't willing to and he has developed into a really good player and the thought of United nipping in, once they've seen that he can handle the Premiership would really annoy me.

    393319

Nothing anybody can do about it. It's Dog eat Dog and probably always will be now. Nobody cared at all about the likes of Leicester, Soton, Norwich, Dundee, Rangers, Brum, newcastle, Tromso, Millwall etc etc when we signed their best players did they?

  15. Hrmph we've already been done over by them and the inept Halsey once this season!

I wonder if LFC would have agreed to change it if the situation was reversed i.e. if John Williams had got himself on a spike and if they were also playing an important and very influential match on the following Wed?

They really need to play on the 15th and put it behind em and exorcise their emotions for their own collective good. It's bloody unhealthy to mourn too long.

  16. You're suggesting charity though as your use of 'donating' makes clear. As much as I like Rovers I don't think I should be giving them money for nothing. They are not a charity and if I was in need they would do bugger all for me.

Maybe some kind of scheme in which overseas fans were sent programmes and merchandise/newsletters could be explored though.

    391210

Why should anybody want anything back? It should be regarded as a priviledge and a duty to help fund their main talking point, source of pride and longest lasting memory from these shores. It need only amount to about 40 pence per day (equiv to 10 fags a week / 1pt Guiness a week) to feel like a fully fledged member of 'team rovers'.
