  1. I remember early morning reports of bother from the Argyle fans, went to the game with a bit of trepidation, all was quiet on the way to the match.  Got on the Blackburn End and could not get near my usual spot  A lot of very unsavoury looking characters, it seems the early morning invasion was a call to arms for every hardcase in Blackburn.

I remember a WPC dragging two hefty lads out of the Darwen end by their hair. I was in the Riverside Stand and at 0-2 a Plymouth fan stood up and tried to goad Rovers fans. An apple missed his head by inches, didn't see much of him after half-time.

Great day-as was the 2-1 away win at Bury-next game?

  2. Totally inept performance by Uriah Rennie, can someone explain to me why we were not given a penalty when Lehmann pushed Reid to the floor. Rennie booked Lehmann so he obviously saw the incident, a foul in the area is a penalty in my eyes even if the game has been stopped.  If we were about to take a free kick and a defender blatantly pushed our striker to the floor then a penalty has to be awarded . Why not in this case?

he gave a free kick to Arse before didn't he?

  3. What are your thoughts on him? I believe:

1- Good player with bags of pace but.....

2-Not enough confidence in his own ability.

It is obvious he is potentially a great player but he needs to believe that. He seems like hes nervous as to how the fans will react if he f""ks up. In his first game(v Wolves 5-1). he was sensational. Great skill and loads of confidence. If he reproduced this he could be the man to lead us to europe.

I have a bad memory, in 03-04 did he do well??? What did he play like. My memory is blank from then, yet I remember all of the season before.

    Your thoughts?

Doesn't seem like a typical Aussie sportsman. Thay never seem to lack confidence (arrogance)

  4. I like the look of that one. However, I'm intrigued to find out what colour the 'Lonsdale' logo will be in the middle if that away kit is chosen. I'd choose grey myelf to go with the side panels, but I've a feeling they would use blue of blacmk which would spoil it. I can definitely imagine Savage and Bellamy in that anyway.

I've gone for home kit 3 and away kit 3.

    3rd home away kit 3 or 2 or 1

    don't mess with the halves

  5. Disapointing but the game was lost the minute Bellamy did his hamstring ( whenever that was- it seems to be permanent ). The boys battled to the end and never gave up but never really looked like creating a meaningful chance. to be honest we were totally toothless . Apart from Saha and Rooney the Red Rats looked very ordinary and a team who actually had a strike force would have had a real chance tonight, it pains me to say it but Kuqi is without a doubt the worst  striker EVER to pull on the Blue and White( and I go back 45 years ).

Unusually I thought we lacked aggression and lost too many 50-50 balls tonight, although it's not easy when you're playing the officials as well. Tugay was fouled when he lost possession in the lead up to the Saha slice and what was the difference between Zurab's handball and Ferdinand's- answer- there wasn't any.

Freide -9 Outstanding- Did not deserve to be on the losing side.

Neil -6 Did o.k. but got booked arguing again ( he's never going to learn is he).

Zurab -8 Played really well , unlucky with the pen.

Nelsen -8 Top performance again, a rock.

Gray -5 It's not often you make two howlers that lead to a goal but he did.

Reid -6 Not in the game, he can' t play out wide , it's in the middle or nothing.

Savage -6 Huffed and puffed but really contributed very little.

Tugay- 7 The usual mix of great passes and heart stopping moments, should have had a free kick before the second goal.

Pedersen -5 If you wanted to know why I  think he's over rated you know now.

Bentley -5 Anonymous until three quarter time when he decided to play a bit.

The Subs- Neither had much time to do much so no marks but  just a remark , Peter is so left footed it's untrue and he lost the ball every time he had it , not a good first impression.

All in all a bad day at the office , all we can take away is our bravery in difficult circumstances, the board need to take a long look at our striking resources, without an addition our season is just going to fade away.

I go back to 1966 and we've had worse than Kuqi--but not that many

I think you are harsh on several players. They were competing against players who cost 10-20 times more and only lost to a mis cue over two legs.

  6. Tonight emphasised the need for Pedersen to offer us more I'm afraid.

It may seem like I'm just waiting to jump but this really isn't the case, I just really wish he used the technical ability he had to improve his game.

When you are playing against a three man midfield, you should be able to utalise the additional space, rather than somehow hiding in it, and I'm afraid MGP has a long way to go before he can justify being our 'star player' or suggest he should earn the same as Bellamy.

agreed but his lack of pace will always hold him back from being a true Premiership star

  7. Sorry it's my fault I tipped Bellers to score the winner and he wasn't even on the bench.

Only saw the second half and was proud of the effort and application of the team - much better than the first leg second half. One ridiculous moment from Tugay resulted in the winning goal. Echo the thoughts of many that we desparately need a quality striker and that Kuqi days are numbered at Rovers.

    Wigan for the cup.

PS Roger Jones lives next door to me.

Are you pulling my leg ?

Ask him if he remembers his save at Port Vale when we won the 3rd Division.

Ah memories "some people are on the pitch..." we all were

  8. We played bad. my match ratings are

    fredel 8 some great saves

    neill7 did allright i guess

gray 6 wtf for that goal

    kizanishvili 7 did ok

nelson 6 rooney ripped him apart

    bentley 7 no service

emerton (sub)7.5 at least he tried to do something. so leave him alone

    pedersen 6 he hid....again

tugay 3 too slow,no passion what was he doing for the goal?

reid 6.5 he scored but lacked decent service

savage 5 just hoofed it every time

kuqi minus 100 an absolute embarrasment. give him to burnley oh wait he WONT GET IN THE TEAM

peter 4 lost the ball every time

    378097[/snapback]

I thought we were ok, with strikers (and I exclude Kuqi in that) trafford Rangers were there for the taking--except for the Kerb Crawler they are very ordinary.

I thought Nelson did well and at least Tugay doesn't just hoof the ball.

Hard on Peter who had no chance to get the pace of the game and Savage never stopped closing down and breaking up attacks.

Man of the Match--G Poll= penalty my arse
