  1. The fitness-level of the Croatia-squad is very concerning, after two tough matches with ET and pens - at the end of the Russia match there were 4 players with fitness-concerns, including their GK. I think you guys will win it in the second half due to better fitness-level, as long as Southgate keeps his team playing aggressive and not lean back. Keep Modric out of the game somehow and you'll do fine. Good luck!

  2. It was a really nice interview. Not only about Rovers, also about the Dutch National squad.

A few things he mentioned about Rovers:

"When I broke my leg, I was able to get to the sideline. Laying there, Robbie Savage shouted to me that I shouldn't exagerate. When he saw my leg, he knew something was wrong though."

"Blackburn aren't the biggest club of England, but when they would play in the Dutch League, they would be among the top 4 clubs every season."

"Blackburn are very similiar to PSV Eindhoven. A very warm, gentle club."

"When I was at Rovers, in the beginning, some lads tried to make a fool out of me in the dressing room. That's probably what every newbie gets, but at a certain point I stood up and felt it should be over. I didn't want to be everybody's aim for jokes."

"The difference between Holland and England is the biggest when it comes to club-rules. Over here, the mentality is much more laid-back. If you feel like taking a walk, you can take a walk. In Holland, when you're one minute late for team-lunch, you get fined. Here in England, things aren't that strict; if you don't feel like having lunch, you don't!"

"There are a few 'sharks' in the squad" (who should he mean?!)

  3. As mentioned its one of my favourite tunes.... there's a clue in the 1st thread.

Come up with alot of possible tunes/two liners etc just when I'm driving ... you know just start singing along and putting your own words in.

Some I have tried but died on their feet as Bob Fleming well knows and some just disappear and are forgotten (posted a couple on here).

As mentioned some are just little chants as this one could end up being, but its also a full song (however its possible that its a tune some people have never heard)

It could catch on, it might be crap to some and then again he could even move clubs!!

Ajax already have Madness' "1 step beyond" as their goal-tune. So you need to be a bit more original. And you will. We'll sing together on january 1st when we'll beat Sunderland. Promise.

  4. The big adventure starts here...

My first visit to the mighty Rovers! As it stands now, for the New Year's Day match vs. Sunderland! I'll fly on December 31st from Amsterdam to Liverpool. But then...!

    * What's the easiest way to get from Liverpool to Blackburn and what's the price?

    * Any recomendations in terms of hotels? So that I can both see the city a little and walk to Ewood?

    * What's the best stand to be in for the Dutch Rover Crew (1 person, yes! :rover: )?

As I'm posting, lewdness rises big time. Thanks in advance for the help!

  5. Injuries have been huge this season: Nelsen, arguably our best player, was out for half the season while our two startingcentral midfielders - Reid and Savage - are huge losses. Reid particularly would have given us a whole extra dimension to our midifield play. I do agree though that it is hard to really say the loss of Ooijer or Roberts really made much difference at the moment.

If we had the luck with injuries that we had last season I am not sure whether we would be that far off last season's position, in fact I seriously doubt it. While we have lost Bellamy I would say the emergence of Bentley, Tugay's Indian summer and McCarthy's excellent goalscoring form has gone some way to compensating for it.

    Dear Joey forgot 1 thing:

    Amen.

    Wise words mate.

And I think much of you guys vastly underrate Andre Ooijer. He'll return stronger and better than you've ever saw. He and Nelsen will be sooo decent. Loved BBC MotD2 analysis on Nelsen last week, after Bolton-game. Finally some credit for the lad.
