  1. It just gets better and better!

From reading through the City Forums and speaking to City fans over the past week or two, it staggers me how few of them actually know what is going on within their own club. Ive heard from two separate sources (one being Nicko, the other a friend) these stories with regard to their finances, and I'm hardly "connected".....so why does the average City fan not get to hear what's going on? Are they in denial or just plain thick?

Who are they going to borrow money off to pay the wages now Wardle has left the club?

  2. Very very sensible post.

I'd like to believe the offer did come after I spoke to him but he knows I post on here so who would blame him anyway for being cautious with a big money move looming ?

As most people on here want to move on, lets do so.

    Here, Here.

I've got absolutely no problem with Neill, he would have been mad not to take up West Ham's offer.

  3. The most impressive aspect of McCarthy's game is his goals to shots ratio, he just doesn't miss the target! When I think back over his time with the Rovers, I genuinely struggle to picture him missing any chances.

This is worth remembering when he is going through one of his "lazy" periods when he doesn't look interested - he is worth having on the pitch just for that one opportunity that may fall his way.

  4. This match was unforgettable for me as it was my first visit to the Dingledome. I'll never forget walking into the concourse under the away end, the place was bouncing with people literally hanging off the walls high above, it was that packed!

The dingles did their best to make the occassion extra special for us:

    - The crappy pitch invasion

    - Ball getting sent off and spitting at the Rovers fans as he walked towards us. It dribbled down his shirt....

    - Payton making an obscene gesture in response to 3,000 Rovers fans goading him

    - Tearing up their own town centre

    - Me and my Dad made our own way to the ground, but my mate told me that a Dingle had thrown a bag of chips at his coach

  5. I watched this game in the Pyrmont Bridge Hotel in Sydney, I think it was about 6.30am by the time it finished and people were walking past on their way to work!

At half time I genuinely thought we were doomed, but when you have Big Lorenzo in your side, ANYTHING can happen!

  6. Amoruso was spotted at the worst club in the world, roxy in darwen, about a year ago. Someone clearly having a laugh taking him up there! Another who goes up there regularly is mark patterson!

Vince O keefe has been quite a succesful football agent. I think his biggest name is/was chris sutton. He is also to my knowledge still a football coach at QEGS blackburn.

I know it won't be a very popular opinion on here  , but I love Big Lorenzo! His header on the opening day against Wolves in 2003 remains one of my favourite goals...unstoppable!

I'm convinced that if he had stayed fit and played in a settled team under Mark Hughes, he would have been a big asset to the Rovers.

  7. Vratti's just signed for Bayer Leverkusen I think. I'll try and find the link.

    Edit: here we are

Also: Lorenzo Amoruso: restaurant owner in his home town of Bari, Italy

A guy I work with saw Big Lorenzo at Liquid in Blackburn a couple of months ago. I thought it odd that he still lived locally, it certainly sounds more plausible that he is running a restaurant back in Italy!

By the way, does anyone remember his cook book, "Love Food, by Amoruso"? I meant to get a copy for my Dad's Christmas present one year but never got round to it.....

  8. I Remember the day we got Dailly! it was transfer deadline day & we were nailed on to sign Sol Campbell for £15m or something ridiculous & next thing who do we end up with!?! .....that was one nail in our relegation coffin!!

I too remember! I logged on to teletext (my god, was it that long ago?!) and the banner headline was "Blackburn to sign top British Defender". My immediate thought was Campbell and if you had asked me to name 20 "top British defenders", Dailly wouldn't even have crossed my mind!

  9. I saw Beckham playing for Real Madrid on Saturday. He looked outstanding - like the player of 5 or 6 years ago - full of energy and nothing like the sluggish, slow form he showed in the World Cup.

I don't think England can afford to ignore him given the way they have performed this season.

Bentley, however, isn't far away from that level and deserves to be a fixture in the squad.

  10. If Savage was being chased by a top 4 club, he'd be off like a shot, just like the vast majority of our players would...you would have to question their ambition to think anything else!

What is disappointing is that McCarthy is openly touting himself about. However, I still think he will be at Rovers next season. He has done well for us and there is no doubt he is a top class finisher, but Chelsea should be setting their sights higher if they want to get their title back.
