Exactly. Half a season without Dack and we get more points than last season and higher place in the league.

I am looking forward to next season and getting back to Ewood Park watching games live in the ground, Which I have missed big time since the season resume after lockdown.

    Finally some sense being taken

Yes it's disappointing as we was so close to play offs at one point , but we have improved from last season . Next season is a big season.  If we can improve like we have this season who knows where we could finish . Definitely need to strengthen quite  a few areas but it's gonna be an exciting season especially with some of our youngsters coming through

  2. I'm not one to usually be negative but oh my ...and yeh i agree with whoever said rodwell could have been on the bench instead of hart or caddis.  What about Tomlinson surely he would of been better on the bench then them two ?? be very surprised if we get anything out of the game today

  3. This whole jack rodwell is quite amusing to be fair

Personally think we should back any player we sign , regardless of their past

The guy clearly has talent for teams like man city to sign him, Sunderland are a shocking team and 2 relagations show that

Personally I don't think we have a lot to lose if it doesn't go right . Mowbray has said it isn't an expensive deal , and it's the guys last chance basically . If Mowbray gets this one right we could have a good player on our hands . Just give him a chance.  It's a one year deal . In Mowbray we trust

  4. Kane and Williamson were absolutely brilliant - our premierleague players that came down have proved all season they aint up for it , get the hardworking players you will go far in this league ...Scott Dann and Gael Givet were brilliant together - gave me a lot of confidence

Josh King did well second half - needs to work a lot on his final ball because hes got the skill and can take players on

David Jones just isn't a right winger - had a decent game - but hes very one footed - much better in the centre

Jason Lowe and Marcus Olsson - I fail to see how these have made footballers - if we manage to stay up this season these two should be worried

  5. Let's try again:

He can pass. Watch games he's played for City and you can see that... he hasn't featured enough in an awful Newcastle team to display such talent regularly. If he didn't have such talent, he wouldn't be so sought after despite his record. The fact he's still getting interest says something about the skills he has.

He's a workhorse who doesn't give up. Much like Savage, he'll chase opponents across the pitch and put them under pressure. Obviously, sometimes it gets him in trouble (Sunday as an example) much like it did Sav, but it's a trait not enough footballers possess.

He attempts to lead the team by example and motivate. Again, much like Sav. He's not afraid to give underperforming players a piece of his mind.

In fact, he's in many ways like a more technically gifted version of Savage, but he somehow has a far worse attitude and appears to be a terrible human being.

this sums joey barton up perfectly..

  6. barton is all sort of things outside of football-but on the field i think he is a very talented footballer who surely would be better then what we have..

at newcastle i dont think he has had the best of time regarding injuries and suspensions, but at man city he showed what he is about-even getting called upto england squad...

i would hope we look else where tho...

  7. my first choice is henk ten cate, but if we appointed sam allardyce i wouldnt be against the idea..

many people are judging his time at newcastle-judge him at bolton, he was brilliant there-he did well with a small club with limited funds-just like ourselves..

zulu is right-you do see liverpool and chelsea attempting long ball football-but because bolton have the name for it, it sticks..ive seen many of time chelsea struggling and start playing long ball football up to drogba..regarding blackburn and dirty tatics aswell-this season we havent been dirty at all-but the name stil sticks...

sam allardyce has worked at a club like ourselves with a tight budget and did very well-he came close to getting the england job aswell-i think he would do well at blackburn and would most probably change his playing style with more talented players to pick from(no offence zulu)

  8. jal

for all the injuries dunn had at birmingham-where he hardly played-in his first full season back-i think hes done alright..his fitness is getting there-his all round play is getting better ie he isnt just an attacking midfielder he actually can defend now..he has 6 assists to his name-which i think is pretty good..

i always know whenever you have posted something-it will always be about david dunn-and how poor he is-has he stolen your girlfriend or something???

the topic about duff tho-if he wage demands werent too much-and his transfer fee was under 2 million hed be worth a risk..yeh he has had injuries-but so did dunn-if mark hughes' staff can get dunn fit, i think they can get duff fit..

  9. i just knew someone would bring this thread back..

its so pathetic how fans can say hughes has to go..okay we have had some bad results, but every team has them....

what i would like to know, some of you are saying he needs to go, you tell me who could do a better job then him with the sources we have??

with the resources hughes has had hes done a brilliant job..he needs the backing tho ie money..

  10. well your saying what you prefer, maybe if hughes was given the backing souness had he would of done better..

has hughes ever had 6million to spend on one player?????

with what hughes has had , he has done fantastic....and to be where we are now is brilliant..if you look at everton, portmouth, newcastle , aston villa and newcastle, and how much they have had to spend, us sitting 9th in the league spending what, under 4million is a brilliant achievement....so we are going threw a rough patch..every team does it..we havent even dropped out the top ten..

so for me..saying hughes is running out of idea's etc etc is pretty damn lame(others who have said it, not you)...

  11. to be honest, i cant even believe their is a thread of "hughes out", its absolutly ridiculous fans would call mark hughes..he has completely turned us around, and without him we would be in championship by now..

okay we will lose a few games we are expected to win..but we will also win or draw games we aint expected to win...a couple of defeats and people are calling hughes..well all i say, is thank god you aint the manager or anything..

  12. i dont think dunn is fat, he just isnt a winger..when played in central midfield he offers us something, running at players etc etc..

santa cruz-i like him alot, great work ethic, but hes a striker, he needs to score more goals..

i think we both can agree tho, we need to buy a couple players come january..our team has done well up to now, so a few additions in january we could be around top 6..we need to be solid like pompey tho and stop conceding goals..
