Unless the Chappers deal is 99% done, i can't see us getting him before 5pm.
Might look again in Jan.
I suspect everything is agreed, just waiting on boro to finalise their deals. Looks like Adomah and saville done. Fully Expect HC to be announced in the next 40 mins

Looks like George Saville is due to have a medical at boro this morning and puncheon deal likely. Would think that would allow HC to sign for us on loan.

Jesus wept. Some people are just never happy. Same sort who write reviews on tripadvisor complaining about a wobbly toilet seat in a hotel.

Surprised we haven’t been linked with the highly rated North Korean bloke Pa-Si Wing-Ah

He reliable? I would be ecstatic with this. Tasty signing.
Yeah, pretty reliable. Midlands mail correspondent. I don’t think he would put his neck on line if not true.
Whay I have found funny is people quoting the tweet with Nixon copied in asking him if true ?♂️

The trouble with recruiting them as late as this is that it takes half a season to blend them into a team. We did it last season and spent the whole season playing "catch up" and never did catch Wigan. We are doing exactly the same thing again.
Didn’t we have most of business done early last year? I could be wrong?
At least this year we’ve had a decent enough start.
Leaving it this late to bring in players is definitely not ideal. Big 6 days coming up, that will define our season. 3 decent additions and I think we can push for a top 10 finish. Anything else and it might be a bit of a struggle as injuries and fatigue takes it toll.

Bolasie gone to Villa then. Some signing that if he stays fit.

It's not just him though is It?
And show me in my post where i said because Nixon said It, it's true?
Don’t get your knickers in a twist. So we are potentially signing a qpr reserve suggests you think it holds weight.
This David McIntyre chap is a freelance, just reading his twitter feed, he has also said don’t hold your breath on this one, suggesting it ain’t happening.
Everyman and his dog knows we are after forwards. God knows who else we will be linked with in the next 7 days. Did someone post they wonder what Chris Brown is up to these days?

Must be true if Nixon has tweeted.

Well, no, we don't need to get involved at all. We could just get involved with some of the transfers being done at far more reasonable prices. Armstrongs, Dacks, Edwards, Rothwell, Davenport, the Brentford lad, there's plenty available. It has just been said that Millwall are about to spend their record ever fee of 1 million! They've had quite a lot of seasons in this league, all told, for that kind of spend. They finished 8th in it last year.
Potential can be bought without a premium. If it doesn't work out, you then have enough left to try again. I'm not saying don't spend quite big, but something like 4 million or so is really the upper limit of what we should spend on potential. Anything more, we need someone who has shown they can do it NOW. There are no guarantees in football, but it's wiser to gamble big bucks when there is a track record.
Spot on. There has to be some middle ground, we don’t have an endless pit of money like the other clubs spending big. Why gamble so much on “potential”? If it doesn’t work out, then what? We’ve put all our eggs in one basket and I doubt we will get anywhere near that sort of funding from the owners again.
-
£12-£14m for Brereton is never going to happen. Would be surprised if it’s more than £8m including add-ons, which is probably still way too much for “potential” in the championship.
Reading through the list of the top 10 most expensive championship signings, it’s hard to justify such a high transfer fee

My point with Reed was if we are struggling to get that one over the line which should be a pretty straight forward deal to do then I'm losing hope in us getting the attacking additions that are badly needed in.
Not sure what's happening with Brereton
These things can get held up for all kinds of reasons. Fully expect the reed deal to be announced on Monday or Tuesday.
As for attacking additions, who knows where we are with that.

I am unhappy that nobody has been brought in yes.Do you not think we are a bit light?
Possibly Dack and Armstrong out tomorrow.Armstrong definitely out.
I could understand it happening once but this has been going on for a month now.Every week Mowbray tells us someone In by the weekend but nothing happens.Wednesday night we were told a couple in on Thursday.
Not really blaming Mowbray as he is probably being told this by the person who is doing the negotiations. We just can't seem to get deals over the line.
I mean Mark Hughes confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Reed is going on loan, rumour has it he has been up north since Wednesday. What's the hold up getting that deal done?
Even if Reed did come in today, it’s not going to solve the lack of numbers up top.
I think Mowbray has always thrown in the caveat of “hopefully” when mentioning targets coming in.
I’m not convinced the Brereton deal will happen now, Forest holding out for too much?

Desperation signing.
There’s no doubt it’s desperation but at least it’s relatively low cost and low risk. My main concern is he physically and mentally still capabale of playing at a fairly high level?
I guess time will tell. I can’t believe he is only 27, thought he must be in his early 30s.

We're not that desperate surely.
We’ve just signed JRod. I think we have already sunk to lower levels of desperation than Antonsson

Shocked to see so many Wigan fans excited at the prospect of taking Mulgrew on loan. Surely alarms bells would be ringing if we’re allowing the club captain to go out on loan to a rival?
