First bit can happen but what is he doing when he's stood there watching it bounce again???

Fuck him and Leo off get Michalski in for final few games, he can't be worse than this

I think he’s trying not to handle it and give them an indirect free kick. That’s the worst decision making he’s made all day when he doesn’t just get palm it away

  2. The issue with games like yesterday and Birmingham away, is that we have still conceded as many chances as we regularly would under JDT but without the attacking prowress.

The only “it wouldn’t have been any better under JDT” argument I have is how bad the QPR game was. Otherwise, like many I feel we would have lost a few but won a few during this run under JDT and had more points.

  3. The worrying thing is that the relegation form actually started in March. We’ve been struggling to average a point a game for the last 20 games.

To be upbeat, onlookers often ask if we would have been happier with the last two seasons had the form being reversed I.E start poorly and have a strong end which results in just missing out in the playoffs. Maybe we’ll find out

Worrying statements from JDT here, we are clearly playing too open and being overrun in midfield in the last 3 games. If he doesnt see it then we are in for more of the same every week.

Yes. If we carry in playing the same way and letting the opposition have 20+ shots a game whilst he says the tactics are fine then that is Mowbray style stubbornness

Yeah, 4-3-2-1 for me. We need to shore up the midfield. RRC, Travis, Wharton in the three. Sammy and Siggy in the 2 and whoever is fit can play up front.

I agree with this as a formation. The wide players in the front 3 are generally our weakness and not as effective in their position as some of the players on the bench (mainly JRC) could be in their’s

I don’t understand our failures defending. I thought that was going to be the best part of our team.
But we sell off Kaminski & Phillips. Those moves did not help us defensively this season.

It’s not really the defenders’ fault. The style of football leaves us very open when a team counter attack. A different manager would have the same defence set up to have games end 1-0 either way. Pros and cons to both approaches

That goal was really all down to garrett not being able to take the ball on the half turn. Since hes come on we can't pass through the middle at all. I like Garret but you can't expect him to play the Wharton role.

Tronstad and Buckley better options in that role surely but one not in the squad and the other out on loan. Garret better in the Travis role

You were trying to fight then at Wigan too, but let’s not split hairs.

You're obsessed with this theme, I never saw any of this, nobody else has mentioned it either. I’m not saying the fan base is squeaky clean, but this has been going on since 1960’s, why the outrage now?

Your generation we’re throwing bananas at Alex Williams and constantly monkey chanting week in week out, thankfully times have moved on.

Every fanbase has it’s nobheads, don’t think we particularly have more. The main issue I have with away games is some people unofficially deciding away games are sit where you want whilst others demand to sit in their seat. I often end up with 10 people standing in the five seats surrounding me or, as happened today, a bunch of young lads in my seat refusing to move and people moving me on when I find another empty seat

  9. He’s always been better when playing off the left but he seems to be hugging the left touchline more than ever at the moment. For this reason he has barely had a chance to miss recently. Most of our attacks seem to come down the right at the moment which should result in your inside left forward getting a lot of chances but this hasn’t happened due to delivery and/or movement. He was still fairly wide yesterday when we were chasing for an equaliser which seems baffling

  10. JDT reminds me a little of arteta. Similar to arteta, some of the performances in his early days were truly dreadful as he tried to change the way we played but a cup run offered promise. You can now see improvements in performances but we lack a cutting edge and have a tendency to “bottle it” not unlike Arsenal. Arteta has had some big money signings to help his “project” and that’s where I feel JDT’s project may fail.

I’ll make the point again, until JDT omitted Thomas, we were winning and haven’t won a match since 🤷‍♂️

As someone who has coached a bit at junior level, when in a bad run and unsure of how to get out of it I often go back to the team I was playing the last time we were on a good run which for various reasons I may have drifted from. JDT may have done the same minus Buckley when he dropped BBD against Preston if Gallagher was fit

  12. You know how we have all these statistical measures like expected goals now? I’m convinced that if you had a way of measuring supporter happiness whereby you got a lot of points for things like coming from behind to win, beating your rivals, scoring a late winner and lost points for the opposite then we would be lower down than most teams on that measure in the last ten years. I can’t complain too much though as we had a much better time than most fans in the nineties and noughties

We've improved at playing football, but regressed with scoring goals, which was the same as last season.

You'd think Waggott would have highlighted that as a priority considering that's how we missed out on the play offs last time.

We’ve gone back to Mowbray’s Rovers a little bit. I always felt that under Mowbray we were competitive in most games without dominating. First half of the season we were only competitive in half our games and Coyle levels of bad in the other half. Somehow we won every game we were competitive in. We are back to most games being fairly even and decided by fine margins like they were under Mowbray.
