  1. I have just been speaking to somebody who works at Rovers and she told me that Ronnie had the early signs of alzheimers (probably why he was forgetful at the tours recently). Apparently, not so long ago he went to a function and all the way there he was talking about Jimmy McIlroy. He hadn't forgot anything about football and when he got to the table his reaction changed as Gordon Burns (BBC News) was sat at his table. Ronnie couldn't remember Gordon and kept saying 'Which football team did he play for?' Sad to hear but just goes to prove that Ronnie truly did love the game just as much as the game loves him.

  2. Living as close to the ground as I do, I always saw Ronnie out and around the ground. However, not seen him now for quite a while. Has he been ill?

True Rovers Legend. Never had the opportunity to watch him play but RIP Rovers and England captain.

Hopefully a minute silence before the game tomorrow.

Lets sing his name loud and proud. Only 1 Ronnie Clayton, 1 Ronnie Clayton.

  3. Sad news for all concerned.

The news spread like wildfire around the supporters and the mood was ver sombre for the last 20 or so minutes. A family in front of me went down to go home after the 3rd goal went in but got turned back and the daughter who only looked about 12 was in tears after seeing the body.

  4. The clubs have been speaking for a couple of days and this should happen.

Zurab is on big wages and in the current climate he probably needs to be off the payroll...I understand the amount of who pays what is the final hurdle here.

It's cheaper than buying St.Ledger, so Boro think it makes good sense.

Rovers should have enough cover with all of the defenders at the club now.

Nicko, what do you understand his wages to be?
