  1. Right, I actually wouldn't mind Celtic getting through to the next round as long as Liverpool stuff them.

Jas, judging from those comments you posted, I take it you took a different set of fans to Spain from those that were at Ewood threatening and hitting stewards and pi55ing in the middle of Bolton Road shouting abuse to everyone who walked past, including young innocent kids.

    Rule Britannia!

  2. It's OK having a go at the club and the policing etc.. but there was always going to be trouble at this game - unfortunatley.

Whenever Celtic come down south they are going to be confronted by hooligan groups in England due to the Bhoys connections/affection for the IRA (sorry if I have described that in a bad way, but you know what I mean). There were obviously quite afew Blackburn 'lads' out for a bit of bother last night but I also saw groups from Oldham and Stoke - to name but two - and they were some of the ones causing trouble around town and the ground. About 100 lads had a go at Celtic outside the Aquaduct after the game.

It is a problem that you would see in any city in England when Celtic come down, it's just a shame it was our town that had to burden the responsibility yesterday.

  3. :rover: how did you manage to get a ticket circo???????

Following my e-mails to John Williams and Tom Finn I was notified by the club that a ticket had been returned and it was mine if I wanted it. Restricted view.

Also recieved a mail from Tom Finn today confirming that I have the ticket and stating that the club understands the frustrations of regular away followers who have not got a ticket for Celtic and are committed to reviewing ticket distribution arrangements for such matches to ensure a fairer system of distribution.

You had any luck getting one yet Waggy?

  4. Many in the queue were of the view the Club shouldn't be accepting telephone applications at all.

I would have had no problem with them making you que for a ticket and in hindsight, I should have taken the day off and come over to que for a ticket. But I decided to go to work and try and phone because I was told I wouldn't have a problem. I will know in future.

  5. Whether people agree or disagree with the actual allocation of Celtic tickets, all the information was quite clearly detailed around the ground before the Newcastle game and everybody knew quite clearly the options of either trying to queue for hours or trying their luck on the telephone

Agree with most of your comments, espcially about Tom Finn being a top bloke, but I was assured more people would be on duty to take telephone calls to satisfy demand (which obviously didn't happen as it took me four hours to get through).

I would have gladly taken the day off and qued all night to get tickets for the game, but I live in Leeds and because the ticket office gave me assurances I would be able to book over the phone, I tried to - and failed!

  6. I believe that the database should record the season ticket account number of every fan puchasing an away ticket. In this way a points system could be devised in which the loyal away fans are justly rewarded. I will be bringing this issue up at the next Fans forum.

Agree entirely and have e-mailed Tom Finn expressing my concern at the distribution for Celtic. This system is in place for Englandfans members who wish to travel abroad and several Premiership clubs also use such a system to good effect.

  7. Finally got through at 12.51 only to be told "we've sold out now, sorry".

I am fuming. Congrats to all those lucky enough to get a ticket. I'll be on the phone to all the touts I know this avo trying to join you at Parkhead. I am determined not to miss this game!

  8. Well I've been trying on the phone for over two hours and still no joy.

Lee, it's not so much the size of the allocation I'm bothered about, it's the way they are being distributed. I travel everywhere with Rovers and only missed three games in all competitions home and away last season and I have only missed one game domestically this. I couldn't make it to Sofia - and quite rightly those who went to Bulgaria deserve tickets for Celtic - but why should I miss out on a ticket to someone who has never been away!?!

I know there are loads of sob stories etc.... but I'm stuck in an office in Leeds trying to get through on the phone and it is doing my head in.

Perhaps it's time to introduce a caps/points scheme like England have for their away games. It would encourage more people to go to less attractive away games in the hope of getting enough points for the big games.
