  1. It's not the pricing Bob, it's the opposition.

If we had played Burnley how many would have turned up? In fact, maybe that's what we should do next year. If they don't turn up for Burnley, they wont turn up for anyone.

    Either that or play Celtic.

Agree the opposition is very important but a decent price on Sat would have made a big difference, when you think the price for a ticket for a CAT B game is only £15 in some areas I can see why people would rather save it for a competative game.

  2. I just got my season ticket yesterday!!! I must say the welcome pack is a great introduction.........i was very pleased............wasnt much but it felt like i was bein rewarded fro my loyalty!! Good on the person who thot o that!

Got my season ticket yesterday thought it was never going to come, ah well all good things and all that! smile.gif

  3. Why ? Which of the club's outgoings (players wages, staff wages, heating, lighting, concourse stock etc) are reduced because it's a friendly ?

I've been wondering about the whole point of doing a "international" pre-season home friendly, it's obvious that the majority of the fans don't care enough to turn up (or don't think they are value for money, perhaps "care" is unfair), so the club enevitably has to drop the price to get some punters in, massively reducing the income (which being a pre-season isn't going to have TV revenue or away fans  to prop it up). I'd imagine that the club must be losing money hosting these games, a cost which has to be made up elsewhere (be it a rise in match prices, or insufficient funds to get McCarthy). Surely we'd be better off not doing them ?

Whilst I expect to be at both, Grimsby is more important to me than Espanyol, regardless of the ticket prices.

PS. Don't get me wrong, if people are on a limited budget, £15 for a friendly or £17 for a home game, it's a no brainer which you'd go for. But if people don't feel £15 is value, should the club persist in organising them ?

I just think season ticket holders should get a discount off the home pre-season games a more sensible figure would be £8 or £9 for season ticket holders, £12 for non STH etc this would have covered costs I presume due to the extra people that might come for cheaper prices.

  4. Sorry if it's been mentioned before but Hotels in Cardiff are like rocking horse S**t at the moment, got my hotels booked Sunday night but I was lucky someone had just cancelled and so I booked for both nights, I will see the day the game is on before deciding if to stay two nights or one and suspect lots of others have done the same so it may not be a bad idea to wait until then sure some fans will cancel and swap days around when the actual days are announced. You can cancel most hotels a day before so it’s worth booking even if you’re not sure on your arrangements, also keep calling places back Travel Inns etc are always getting cancellations. Newport has some vacancies left and is about a £20 cab ride away from Cardiff centre, also most of the out of town places near the M4 are on the train line or about a £10 for a cab into the centre. I have found some good hotel web sites so if anyone is struggling I will pass them on if PM me. Happy hunting!! tinykit.gif

  5. The stewards are rubbish I would not take their word over that of serial liar and don't see this issue as any different. I don't for one min think that people didn't gave him some stick but don't think it could possibly be racially motivated or I hope not.

  6. IF we are still in this position (Bottom) at Christmas then we are down (Or as good as) so talking about the January transfer window as if it’s ok to wait until then is not the way, Mark needs turn things around with the players he has an quickly.

Reid – Bad buy by GS IMO is an average division 1 player drop him and put either de predro, Pederson or Matty on the left and let Emmo go back on the right.

Matteo – Get him out of the team he is having a terrible season.

We need to change the forward two as it’s just not working, as for sacking the manager after just 5 games then no but things have got to pick up quickly

  7. Posted a few times in the past about the stewards at Ewood they are in the main young girls and teenage boys marking the stairwells and then some sort of supervisor (That’s not much better) I would love to know the entry requirements certainly in any sort of physical area the above are just not up to the job and as I have said many times should no be allowed.

I commented to some friends on Saturday about the Middlesbrough lot standing didn’t notice any more than usual standing at the BB end, seems very heavy handed going by all reports I certainly saw some disturbance but didn’t realise at the time the problem.

Hope whoever got thrown out comes forward and can explain the reasons and what happened the club seem to have some explaining to do.
