  1. I thought I understood him.....I even stuck up for him....how wrong I was !!!

He said it was nothing to do with money.....he wanted a fresh challenge, and hopefully the opportunity to win trophies

What a load of tosh..........money grabbing tosspot

I hope he goes to West Ham and that they go down.....it will serve him right

    What a w****r

  2. From some of the comments Hughes has made..........

"All he is doing is keeping his options open," stated Hughes. "He is in the final year of his contract and he is fully entitled to do that."

One thing that I would say for Neill is that he has been professional in his manner regarding his future....he has not been spouting off in the press about joining this club and that club...all the paper talk is just that...paper talk. Anyone in any profession who signs a contract of a specific length is entitled to honour it and then walk....you always hope they will want to keep you and offer you a bit more, but most times there is usually a fresh opportunity and more money elsewhere....and maybe with a better chance to progress.....or in Neill's case....win a trophy.

"He has been a great servant to us, we are still very hopeful he will stay."

Yes, I would agree he has been a good servant....never the best player but someone who gave it there all....until recently where I do feel that his performance has been affected by the hype surrounding his future.

Will he stay ? I doubt it.......put yourself in his shoes....if you were booed by your own supporters, would you stay ? I wouldn't, and I am sure that the recent events will only make Neill more determined to leave in January.

"But he needs the crowd behind him."

Too late....he's lost a section of the crowd, and I think that the boo boys will continue until he leaves.

IMO, I would continue to play him.....we have no choice with the defender injury situation (and on last night's performance, Nolan is nowhere near ready for the Prem)

BUT, I would give the captaincy to someone else.....Savage ? Ooijer ?

Either of these would be better than Neill at the moment

  3. First half....poor....very poor

Second half....better, but still not good enough

    Yes, we have injuries,

Yes, the ref's don't like us,

and Yes, lady luck has deserted us.........

BUT, as many on here have already stated, why did it take getting a man sent off and a 2 goal defecit before we started playing ? We proved in the 2nd 45 minutes that we can play good football, but why do we not see this level of performance week in week out ?

IMO, only Tugay and Savage came out of this game with any credit for the huge effort they put in during the 2nd half...they chased everything

My biggest concern is the effect Europe is having on on Prem form......and parallels with the 98/99 season are also very scary !

  4. Without wanting to disregard some of the comments made previously about the organisation for visiting fans, I would like to say that it was not all bad.

I admit that staying in Rotterdam centre made it easy to get to the pre-arranged meeting place in the Old Harbour, but the free buses to and from the ground were a great idea.....

I appreciate that others who were at the game have their own issues and I agree that they should be addressed by Feyenoord and those involved in organising our game in Rotterdam

  5. Tonight I am absolutely ******* ###### off and infuriated by the poor, inept refereeing I witnessed today.

The referee had a very bad game, and I hope that Tugay's red card is looked at as I am still not sure that he was the last man

But....his linesman on the Riverside touch line should be ashamed and embarrassed of his performance today...to miss such a blatant handball, at such a crucial time in the game was unacceptable...he is paid to do a job....if any of us performed badly at work we would be warned, disciplined or even sacked....the same should go for referees and their assistants.

I am so mad that I cannot even focus on the positives that came from today's game....all I can think about is crap referees and how there are far too many

Surely there must be a better way ?

  6. Just got back from Villa...via a stiff drink !!!

Mr Hughes still has my 100% support as I know that injuries are hampering his preferred line up but I agree with some of the comments on here....is Europe the number 1 priority ? I am starting to question a few of the decisions !!

First....what do these guys do during training ? Our defence is still too nervous at set pieces and when we have the ball in the last 3rd....sort it out Rovers !

I also thought we lacked any sort of creativity in midfield...Tugay and Bentley try their best but when will Hughesy realise that the Axe is no good in that position....things seemed to improve when Peter came on

IMO....stick Gamst (or Gallagher)on the right, Peter on the left and put Bentley and Tugay in the middle

We desperately need more reinforcements in January.....a new left back seems an ideal place to start !!!

  7. half way there...booked onto the Hull - Rotterdam Ferry on Wednesday 22nd Nov, returning Saturday 25th Nov (car + 4 passengers + ensuite cabin for 4 on both crossings)....all for £224 = £56 each

Thought we would make the most of our little trip....provisionally booked into a hotel in Rotterdam for 2 nights....anyone else thinking of staying in Rotterdam ? Most appear to be staying in Amsterdam :-(

Just hope we get the number of tickets being touted on here as it seems like it will be a popular trip !

  8. Neill didn't make any major errors as I could spot today.

IMO Neill was one of those at fault for Wigan's goal....both he and Gamst were beaten too easily, as was Ooijer, when Heskey beat him to the ball.....still, if Peter Jackson wants to give Lucas another watch then who am I to argue....but I thought Emerton, Benni and Brown were all in with a shout

  9. While I appreciate that every penny counts at Rovers nowadays, I certainly will not be buying the new shirt.....not just yet anyway.

Not sure how many of you remember buying your new home shirt last season, only to walk into Sports Soccer just a month or so later to find that the cheeky feckers had only gone and dropped the price by £5 or £10 !!!!

I can do without.....having just paid £450 for my season ticket it can bloody well wait !!!!
