I would be absolutely delighted to go but the problem for me is not the cost or the location, although being in Edinburgh as a student means it would be a major drain on funds.

Put simply I do not possess any friends who are Rovers supporters. I love Blackburn and would go to every game I could afford but I cannot stomach traveling for games on my own. I did it quite a few times at away games when I lived in London and that was okay, I could meet mates in the pub afterwards, but going 200 miles to Ewood or 500 to Cardiff and having to stay in a hotel on my own just does not appeal.

Football is a group experience and that option is just not available to me. Anybody in Edinburgh in the same position?

There is a fairly large group of us who always meet up in Edinburgh at the Queens Arms on Frederick Street for all of Rovers TV games. We also regularly travel both home and away. Cheap flights from Edinburgh to London, Manchester and now Cardiff have proved quite a boon and add a kind of European feel to trips on top of the traditional "derbies" at Newcastle, Boro etc. You are more than welcome to join us at the Queens or PM me for more info. Don't know what the situation will be there on Sat though as I think most of us are going to Cardiff.

I live in Denmark and rarely gets the chance to see Rovers. However I'll be in London next weekend and I'd love to go to the game.

I could use some pointers on how to get there. What is the best way to get from London to Cardiff in time for the game? How much time should I count on for delays, getting into a stadium and so on?

I'm not used to travelling in England and I'm pretty much a big-game-virgin, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thought this info I just read on the Arsenal site might be useful for you:

At time of going to press there is only one service from London Paddington to Cardiff that will get you there on time. All Paddington to Cardiff and return service’s that day are diverted via Gloucester with an expected 45 minutes additional journey time.

Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway to Cardiff route is closed and is operating an all day bus shuttle service. Supporters are STRONGLY advised not to stay overnight in Bristol / Weston super Mare.

Driving to Newport / Bridgend either on the day or staying overnight is recommended and will be supported by a very good local train service to and from Cardiff.

Travel on the day to the Park and Ride facility at either Taffs Well or Radyr station on the Valleys network, this will link into a regular service to and from Cardiff.
