    deffo wouldn't be dropping Tongue. I would drop Robinson and Anderson for Ali and Wood.

    Don't get why we need 6 bowlers in the teams and that's not including Root as part time bowler

    Yeah, I know what you mean but we haven't taken enough wickets. We've got a bit of seam from Woakes and pace from Wood, Broad and Robinson can ball some bouncers. And if it's hot and dry, spin from Ali/Root. I think the batting lineup also looks better.

    Is Ali's finger ok?

    It looked a mess and doubt it had time to heal properly.

    Maybe he can if allowed wear a protective cover but is that even allowed.

    We do need a specialist spinner included.

    It did but ITKs seem to think he'll be picked so I'm guessing so. It's risky as I'm pretty sure no plasters are allowed.

  3. It looks like plenty of changes are afoot. No Foakes. From the paper;

    England are planning to respond to Ollie Pope’s series-ending Ashes injury with a radical shake-up to their team for the third Test at Headingley on Thursday that sees a promotion to No 3 for Harry Brook.

    Moeen Ali will be recalled after missing the second Test with a finger injury, with Chris Woakes and Mark Wood also set to be included at the expense of James Anderson and Josh Tongue, who are rested.

    Vice-captain Pope will miss the remainder of the summer after dislocating his shoulder in the second Test defeat at Lord’s.
    Barring a late change of heart, rather than replace him with the spare batsman in the squad, Dan Lawrence, England look likely to rejig the balance of their bowling attack.

    Brook will move up to first drop for the first time in his Test career, while skipper Ben Stokes, a centurion at Lord’s, and wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow will move up a place in the order. Brook has not batted at No 3 since 2018 in the County Championship and averages just 22.2 in the position.

  4. After last night, I can’t work out if JDT thinks his players are crap and sets us up accordingly. i.e. keep it tight, try and nick a goal, and don’t attack. Or he’s giving them instructions that they still don’t understand.

    Many times last night the players were urged to attack, play forward, and go forward, but there was so much hesitance. As if they’re thinking, we shouldn’t be doing this.

    What’s the point in playing a forward if you’re rarely going to play the ball into him, cross, or play down the channels? We might as well not bother. Or we could play another player at the back then we can all watch them knocking it around in our half for 90 minutes.

    And its not realistic to continue shopping in Poundland and expect a gourmet meal. We end up with the likes of Edun yet hope for promotion! Not going to happen.

    Poundland sells sell things like;

    • Chocolate Bars & Multipacks.
    • Dried Fruit & Nuts.
    • Cakes & Biscuits.
    • Tea, Coffee & Hot Drinks.
    • Gravy, Oils & Sauces.
    • Jam, Spreads & Pickles.
    • Packet Rice, Pasta & Noodles. Tinned Soup. Tinned Fish & Meat. Tinned Tomatoes & Veg. Tinned Fruit & Desserts.
    • Home Baking.

    But not meals as such. A meal normally involves a starter, main course and dessert. Perhaps eating in Wetherspoons and expecting a gourment meal would be more apt?

  6. I don't have a problem with us playing out from the back, bringing the opposition into our half and playing through the lines. However, we have only one ball playing centre back in Wharton and the majority of the time, we don't pass the ball around quick enough or with any purpose. We are also playing 3 up front and creating very few chances. The end result is it's very very very boring to watch. I haven't been this bored watching Rovers since Allardyce was in charge.

  8. Usyk was absolutely class and deserved to win. Joshua was much better than the first fight and hit him with some really good body punches but just not enough of them. Its a hell of a task for any heavywieght to hit Usyk win he faints and moves that much. The way Usyk came back in the 10th round after Joshua rattled him in the 9th was immense.

    Yup. I agree. But there's nothing stopping Gallagher learning that. It's not heaven sent. He has the stature. Just not the motivation.

    I'd say lacking in confidence. Judging by pre season so far I think JDT will get more out of him. He's strong and quick, first touch needs work but he's capable.

    I'll put this one out there, but I think he'll score over 18 goals this season.
