I think it's a real shame he's decided to move on, he's been with us since he was 13.
Strong, solid, quick, good defensively. Yes, he wasn't that great in the final third but I always thought with the right coaching and a bit of confidence that aspect of his game could be improved.
We'll miss his strength and pace, particularly from attacking corners as he was always our last man and rarely did he get caught out on the counter.
Let's hope GB and the scouting team can replace those attributes before the season starts.

This dismissal in the Eng v NZ game is crazy. Looks like it hit the batsmans bat at the none strikers end, then looped up to a fielder.

For me, the first thing we need to address is we have no real leaders in the squad apart from maybe Ayala, but he's always injured. I'd be looking to bring in a couple of tough, experienced older pros who've been around the block to help our young lads.

Indeed. Clutching at the biggest of straws but Nyambe liked Rovers' Instagram post announcing JDT so maybe he's impressed with the appointment and considering staying. Would be a huge boost.
Van Hecke liked another one about JDT but that's probably dreamland stuff.....
Nyambe signing a new contract will save a lot of hassle. Solid right back at this level.

Not sure that's the most reliable of sources tbh. It's starting to feel like this is going to roll on into at least next week.
Very true but maybe, just maybe something is brewing 🤞

I suspect it's because they haven't got a clue what they're doing. This thread will be over 500 pages before we get a new manager.
This was my prediction on 3rd May. Just 200 pages to go!

This was the tweet I was referencing…From when he actually left - 12th April.
Personally, I think the fans replies read pretty badly on him (apart from Tony Bellew who put something positive and got slated 😂)
Ah I see, thanks for that!

I was surprised when Everton tweeted about Unsworth leaving the club just how happy the fans were about it.
There's nothing recent on the Everton twitter feed about David Unsworth?

How smart would you have to be to spot that Mahrez and Kante could play a bit ? It took me ten minutes of watching Mahrez.
Yes fair point, maybe right place right time. He plucked them from the french 2nd division and Leicester sold them for a combined 63 million, which isn't too shabby. It's a good appointment IMO, which is rare where venky's are concerned. He's a good bloke too, knows his football. Hopefully he'll pull a few more rabbits out the hat for us.

Stevie Walsh was my PE teacher at school, in those days he was scouting for local clubs in his spare time. Solid football man and good bloke.
I think he went on to become head scout at Chelsea before becoming assistant manager at Leicester. He scouted Mahrez and Kante. He then went on to sporting director at Everton.
He's not to be confused with the other Steve Walsh who was captain of Leicester.

I was just watching the live stream on youtube and it's gone off. Message says;
This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by England and wales cricket board.
🤷♂️
EDIT: Just checked on twitter, looks like it's a bogus copyright claim. Hopefully they get it back online quick, Lancs are going well.

If we do remarkably get Farke over the line, I wonder what his backroom set up would be. Does he have his own coaches that come with him?

Negative thinking
Appointing a manager like Carvalhal or Farke would be the opposite of every managerial appointment since Venkys rocked up at Ewood. I’d be astonished if one of them was appointed.

Lancs survive the day with 9 down just need it to rain all day tomorrow. rumour around OT today that Saqib Mahmood is leaving to play for Warwickshire next season
I was suprised they got skittled for 103 as they've had a good start to the season. Rain dance tommorow!
That would be a shame, good player.

You’d think they’d still be bowling in the nets I suppose.
Yes, you'd have thought so.
I was a bowler (not a very good one!). Towards the end of my playing days, I had back problems and had to work hard on my core strength, doing planks and that kind of stuff to help support my back. Also, lots of stretching every day, mainly hamstrings. I'd bowl on my own in the nets for an hour 3 times a week as well as training nets. All that was just so I could bowl a few overs at the weekend!
If they haven't been looking after themselves properly during lockdown, that's a poor do if you ask me.

I noticed Connor Mahoney on the free agent list. Things don't seem to have worked out for him since he left and he's only played a handful of games for Millwall this season.

Lancashire bowled out for 103 😮

Coronavirus to blame according to my paper. It lead to inaction, which led to a loss of bone density. I’m not having it myself. Why only English fast bowlers ?
I'm not sure I buy that either unless they all completely stopped bowling and working on their core fitness, which we would be disappointing if true.
-
Lancashire are playing at Southport & Birkdale in July, which is not far from me and one I'll be going too.
On the fast bowler injuries, it looks like Jofra Archer has also been ruled out for the season, with a stress fracture to the lower back. That's 8 fast bowlers injured! That can't just be bad luck.

Very true, making Silverwood coach and selector was a disaster.

That can't be right, he must be 6ft. He looks taller than all the other players in the photo underneath those stats!
