  1. Exciting appointment I think Chaddy, Stokes and McCullum will be a great combo.

The only slight resevration is he doesnt have much coaching experience but I suppose neither did Langer when he took the Austraila job and that turned out pretty well. Hopefully there's better times ahead for red ball cricket.

It’s hard to conceive that it was deliberate by the management but perhaps it is.

I used to believe that kind of stuff during the Kean era, when the likes of Bradley Orr and Leon Best were signed but not now. I think we had a great run of form when we had all our best players on the pitch.

Rothwell, Brereton and Khadra I don’t think have played together for maybe 8 games?

  3. I’m not optimistic. So many chances missed over the last few games has been painful to watch. I thought we might have turned the corner when Khadra banged that free kick in but wishful thinking!

I suspect the best we can hope for is a clean sheet and to nick a goal from somewhere.

I’m going for 1-1 and will have a dabble on both teams to score. That normally guarantees us a clean sheet and a win!

I watched Gallagher last night and he does run around a lot. He’s quick to get to the opposition player with the ball but at the point of impact slows down. The result is he never gets in a tackle and the player lays the ball off. Dolan is the exact opposite he runs to get the tackle in and therefore robs the ball from the defender.
Gallaghers first touch is poor. His anticipation is also poor the result is always a split second late or rocking back on his heels. In all honesty I’m not sure what the answer is because it’s not effort it’s football intelligence that appears to be missing

He's an irritating player. He has all the physical attributes, strong, quick and has decent techincal ability. He's just on a different wave length to players like Buckley and Rothwell. Lacking a footballing brain I would say.

  5. Can't fault the players effort, they're clearly a good group of honest lads.

Sheff Utd are a decent side, on a good run but we matched them and if that penalty had gone in, we'd could well have won. Fine margins.

Buckley needs a rest, maybe play Johnson with travis and push Rothwell further forward. Gallagher doesn't seem to know what he's doing, I don't if that's his fault or the coaching but it needs sorting out.

Tough one to take. Massive game on Saturday now.

  6. I think we're going to have a tough end to the season. It's becoming far more difficult to hit teams on the break, I think we've been figured out.

The Swansea game, when they played with a low block for half an hour and we had loads of possession was a good example. Their keeper barely had a save to make.

TM needs to earn his money and come up with some other plays to unlock defences. Set pieces have been pretty poor as well over the last few games, that needs sorting out.

Fingers crossed for a positive result.

  7. I used to love my little J reg Renault Clio RT back in the day.

I currently have a Toyota Pro Ace Verso. Its an 8 seater, all the seats fold down or can be taken out and theres loads of room for all the family and clobber. I also coach a junior football team and the rest of the time it's full of footballs and corner flags!

I haven't seen an EV that will do the same job and if there was one, I'd expect it would be out of our price range anyway.

I'd also be conerened about spending big on an EV. I haven't heard a CEO of any of the big EV car manufacturers say how long the battery will last. It's the most expensive and important part of an electric car, that's a bit of a problem for me.

I'd say hydrogen engines are the future for larger vehicles, big-engined machinery, HGV's, buses etc. I watched a good video on youtube about the JCB hydrogen engine, it's very impressive. Its very similar to a normal combustion engine.

  8. This article says we're interested in Maja, however it also says Bordeaux are keen to wipe his €90,000-per-month salary from their wage bill! If he's on that much I can't see him rocking up at Ewood.

  9. They’ve obviously improved under Wilder. I’d expect them to be quite direct, our back three will have to be on their toes. Hopefully, they don’t have a massive lad up top like Hull did. He caused us loads of problems.

Good news that Travis and Nyambe are back. It’ll be a close game this I reckon, let’s hope we can sneak a win.
