Season Over For Jay

Rovers defender Jay McEveley, currently on loan to Ipswich Town, has suffered a torn medial ligament injury that requires surgery.

Ipswich manager Joe Royle told their club site: "The ligament is torn completely and that means Jay is out for the season".

Ipswich physio Dave Williams is reported as saying: "Unfortunately the ligament is detached and has come away from the bone.

"Although I wouldn't rule him out completely for the season, it's looking likely that will be the case."

McEveley has made 13 starts and two sub appearances for Ipswich since joining on a season-long loan in August, scoring one goal.
