The outcome of a number of games this weekend could set an appetizer for capacity crowd at Ewood on Easter Sunday against Liverpool as Rovers challenge of Europe.

With Spurs kicking off at 12.45 today against Man City, Rovers will know prior to kick off against Portsmouth how crucial a win will be. Should Spurs loose to City, Rovers will know that 3 point this afternoon would move them into 4th place in the league, a place they could retain should Arsenal loose at Old Trafford tomorrow. Plus if Bolton loose to Liverpool it would increase the gap between Rovers and the Wanderers to 8 points.

I wonder when was the last time Rovers were cheering on Man United, City and Liverpool ?

However, wins for all 3 clubs will be have been futile if Rovers cant pick up maximum points on the South Coast against the rejuvenated Portsmouth.

Despite Portsmouth’s low league position, they have become a force in recent weeks, winning their last 3 games as they attempt to pull themselves out of the relegation zone. Rovers will therefore need to concentrate and if needs be grind out a 1-0 win and silence the Pompey Chimes.
