Rovers ensured qualification to the knock out stage of the UEFA Cup for the first time, with a 0-0 draw against Feyenoord this evening in Rotterdam.

Meanwhile the other 2 teams in their group, Nancy and Basel ended their game with 2 goals each.

Without going into the stats, the overwhelming feeling I got at the game, was that rovers won their point fairly easily. Maybe it's different watching it on telly - maybe you are more on edge than when you're actually there.

I'm usually the pessimistic one, but Feyenoord never looked good enough to win this. They could have got lucky if one of the goalmouth scrambles had dropped kindly for them, but they simply were very poor throughout.

As for rovers, well we only did what we had to do. This team certainly needs big money spending on it ASAP, because central mids of quality don't come cheap. As for the wingers, well neither of them has any pace and neither of them can get to the bye-line. That's a bigger problem than it might seem IMO.

However, a job done quite easily.
