It’s Christmas in July for Rovers supporters, with the news that Santa is coming to town.

Breaking news by Alan Nixon in The Mirror, would indicate that Bayern Munich, Paraguayan striker Roque Santa Cruz, signed for Rovers last night for a fee in the region of £4.5 million.

Rovers manager Mark Hughes is quoted by other media sources as saying

"I think it's a great bit of business, He's a 25-year-old international striker who has played at one of the top European clubs for a good number of years. To get that quality through the door, in comparison to other deals being done this summer, makes it an exceptional deal."

Santa (Nicknamed Chico) may be introduced to the supporters this afternoon, when Rovers take on FK Vetra in the 2nd leg of the Intertoto at Ewood Park, kick off 3pm
