Rovers sealed a place in the UEFA Cup second qualifying round draw on Friday with goals from Morten Gamst Pedersen, Jason Roberts, Benni McCarthy and Christopher Samba.

On the day Rovers confirmed the signing of Roque Santa Cruz from Bayern Munich, Rovers front men gave the Paraguayan international striker, early indication that he will have to battle to win a regular starting place as Rovers romped to a 4 – 0 win (6 – 0 aggregate) against FK Vetra.

Morten Gamst Pedersen open the scoring on the half hour mark when he headed home David Bentley's cross to give Rovers a first half lead.

Vetra were reduced to 10 men before the break when Dejan Miloseski was shown a second yellow card, for a foul on Rovers defender Stephen Warnock.

Three minutes into the second half Rovers made it 2 – 0 when Pedersen worked his way to the dead-ball line where he pulled the ball back for Roberts to score from close range.

Rovers third goal of the afternoon came courtesy of a Benni McCarthy who acrobatically converted David Bentley's cross.

Rovers closed their account for the afternoon, when Pedersen’s free-kick from the right from 30 yards flew past the keeper. This goal was however later credited to Big Chris Samba who had got a glancing touch.
