Rovers V Hull

Rovers take on newly promoted Hull City this afternoon at Ewood Park. Kick off 3pm.

Rovers haven’t played Hull in the league for 18 years and Hull haven’t won at Ewood since beating Rovers 2-0 in November 1986, when both clubs were in the old second division.

As new kids on the block Phil Brown’s team will be out to make their mark, boosted by their 2-1 win against Fulham in their first game in the Premiership last weekend; however if Rovers continue in the same vein as last Saturday against Everton, there should be no contest and a victory should be assured for Rovers in their first home fixture of the season.

With Bret Emerton having recovered from a foot injury and summer capture Carlos Villanueva having recovered from chicken pox, Paul Ince has a full squad to choose from.
