modes98 Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Blackburn Rovers have today confirmed that Roque Santa Cruz has left the club for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £18m. Santa Cruz was signed under previous boss Mark Hughes for £3.3m and now joins up again with Hughes at Manchester City. Santa Cruz had a fantastic impact in his first season with the club but fell away last season after injuries and problems with former manager Paul Ince. The transfer and impending move of Matthew Derbyshire leaves Rovers extremely light up front with only Benni McCarthy and Jason Roberts at the club. The search for a new striker begins now, although it is doubtful that all the money will go on a new striker as Allardyce looks to strengthen Rovers fragile center midfield.
