theacademic Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Just wondering what members thought of this appointment that was announced yesterday: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24935248 The Players' Union was established in 1907 and became the PFA in the late 1950s, thus highlighting the first female appointment for over 100 years.

Amo Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 I think the PFA have picked up a gem there, but it could turn out to be a rocky relationship.
footypix Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The PFA are starting to take the women's game seriously and that can only be good for the players.Agents are starting to take advantage of some of the more higher profile players, so they are in the need of the protection of the union. I've met Casey Stoney many times and was the ideal choice for the role of England captain. Liverpool have invested a decent amount in the women's team and have been rewarded with the WSL league title. They are also building a state of the art training ground and academy on land next to Melwood.
