An injury time free kick from Morten Gamst Pedersen has given Rovers a half-time lead at home to Fulham. Rovers were reduced to 10 men when Yakubu was sent off for a reckless challenge on Danny Murphy, but despite dominating possession Fulham were not able to turn their pressure into a goal.

It has been a half of few chances, but the talking points will certainly be the decision to send Yakubu off in the 23rd minute. Fulham had hit the woodwork shortly before the dismissal, but apart from that have only seriously tested Paul Robinson on one occasion.

It looked as if Rovers would go into the half pleased to be level, but they were awarded a free kick deep into first-half injury time and Pedersen made no mistake when bending the ball into the corner with the last kick of the half.
