Alan75
With Arsenal, Manchester United, to face next week, followed by a trip to Newcastle, failure to pick up at least one point tomorrow against Southamton at St Marys, could see Rovers going into September, firmly anchored to the foot of the table. Times are not easy either for Saints manager Paul Sturrock whose position is under review after failing to win a game since April. This is therefore vital game for both managers, not helped by the fact that they will come under close scrutiny from the armchair pundits, in front of the Sky tv cameras tomorrow. Kick-off 12.45. After a run out in the reserves Wednesday night Rovers, Lucas Neill is likely to return at right back however David Thompson is still not fully recovered despite a run out in the reserves mid week. Southampton may also have Rovers old boy James Beattie available for tomorrow’s game after he missed their first game of the season against Villa with a thigh strain.
