Well Southampton’s 3 points on Saturday against Rovers, thanks to Beatties controversial last minute penalty didn’t do Paul Sturrock much good, as today he became the first premier league managerial casualty of the season.

As for the perpetuator of the dubious penalty, refereee Andy D’Urso, has been charged by the FA after he failed to send off Barry Ferguson, despite issuing two yellow cards. The FA will adjudicate whether D'Urso is guilty of "less than proficiently applying the laws of the game".

However the FA have already ruled that Ferguson will serve a one-match ban and will miss the away game against Arsenal on Wednesday.
