  1. Anybody see the quotes from Ronaldo this morning? Telling the press he only said it was a foul to the ref and never said it was a red card.

Replays clearly show that the ref had signalled a free kick long before Ronaldo arrived on the scene. Then, seeing the ref had signalled the free kick, (which he continued to do so whilst Ronaldo was speaking) Ronaldo continues to speak in the referee's ear. Besides I thought that FIFA were clamping down on players trying to influence the referee's decision.

The look on Rooney's face just before he pushes Ronaldo prooves for me that Ronaldo only wanted Rooney off. I know Rooney's sending off didn't cost us the result, but it's not what you do to a team mate and friend, Ronaldo deserves all he gets.

  2. RoverinBath-are you a Rovers fan from the city of Bath, or do you only use your computer whilst taking a bath? Or both?

When I registered I was in Bath, training to be a teacher. Now I'm in Cornwall.

If I'd been in the bath for that long, I'd be all wrinkley!

  3. I got the train into Cardiff from Bath. It was full of Spurs fans, with a small smattering of Roverites. These Spurs supporting lads saw my Rovers shirt and began chanting and joking showing their over confidence. Really loud they were.

Not so loud on the way back though. tongue.gif

And thus began my dislike of Spurs fans (although I'd prefer them to get 4th than Arsenal)

  4. Southampton end up selling Walcott for £10m. This money goes into paying the club's debts and possibly half into buying new players. Que exodus of senior players stating that Southampton are not ambitious enough, they languish in the Championship for several years before finally tumbling down the divisions.

Would make me a happy man. Wupert "Trekkie" Lowe is a muppet.

  5. I too have loved FIFA every year and when this years came out I loved it the first few times I played it however, little nasties kept popping up that made me scream.  I always get both games and since Pro Evo came out I have not been able to stop playing.

I find your points for loving FIFA a little strange though:-

    1.  Change the controls to be the same as FIFA (Some people will moan at you on here for doing it but I dont care because I am so used to the others)

    2.  Just get a max drive and change all of the team names and kits and if that is all your problems are then happy days

Or I could just play the game I prefer rather than shelling out for a new game and whatever a max drive is. tongue.gif

Seriously, I have nothing against Pro Evo, just the people who think those who buy FIFA are somehow less intelligent or skilled.

  6. So basically, you're saying you aren't skilled enough to win at Pro Evo then?

    367572[/snapback]

I think it's down to personal preference. I prefer Fifa simply because I've been playing the series since 1997, so I'm used to the controls.

Also, I prefer real teams rather than "London Reds" or "Lancashire".. however, if you want to say it's because I'm not skilled enough to play Pro Evo, that's your narrow minded elitest perogotive.

    Rant over.

  7. I just got FIFA06 and it took me a few games to get used to the tackling and how good the opo teams were. Then I discovered that I could play it on Amatuer level until I get the hang of it. Now I can actually score, although Kuqi is @#/? in the box. tongue.gif

Look at some of the challenges you have to complete, the best one has to be "beat any 5 star team with any 1 star team" Torquay vs Arsenal anyone? ph34r.gif

  8. Derbyshire was excellent last night. He set up Scott Taylor's goal, but generally made a nuisance of himself to the Crewe defence.

With Plymouth playing a 4-3-3 formation, the strikers lined up with Nick Chadwick in the middle with Derbyshire and Taylor given lisence to roam around behind him. Derbyshire attacked mostly down the left, show fantastic dribbling skills to get past the two Crewe defenders sent to put him out of the game after Plymouth's equaliser. He had a few shots on goal, one an audacious strike from wide on the right which just went past the far post.

The lad's doing brilliantly, and I for one, am glad he's in Devon where we South West Rovers can see him. rover.gif
