  1. Armageddon the Musical, first book of the series try that and then carry on

The Antipope, East of Ealing, Brenford Triangle, or any of the 5 part Brentford Trilogy.

The armageddon series can be hard to read if you've not read any of his stuff before.

On your recommendation...Just finished 'The Book of Ultimate Truths'- not bad at all. Liked the style but not amazing... still, I'll try one of the books you recommend next.

  2. Along with the 1 & a 2 & a 3 McEvely

how about one to the tune of ' Do you wanna be in my gang'

Could go like McEvely in my gang , my gang, my gang

McEveley in my gang, mmmmmmmmmmyyyyyyy gang

Hes a rover, hes a rover, hes a rover and he hates burnley

Errr... aren't Gary Glitter songs no longer as, er.... popular as they once were?

  3. As I will soon be leaving these Albion shores for a fortnight in Greece I was wondering if anybody on here can recommend a decent read to take away the tedium of the daily toasting of myself on the sun loungers (if I can get there before the Germans).  Does anyone have any recommendations that can make my attempt to become bronzed go that bit quicker?
  4. Wasn't Dean Acheson (US secretary of state during the 50's) once quoted as saying that since the average American only spends 10 minutes a day thinking about the rest of the world, that gave the govt. the right to do whatever it liked without worrying about public opinion?

Seeing as less than 20% of Americans actually own a passport it's unlikely they as a nation they will suffer too many tugs at the heartstrings for a country half the world away, and which may as well be on the moon for most of them.  This has been the ultimate TV war.  Invasion through CNN and SKy News.  Mix that with a bit of hypocritical tear jerking image of a boy with his arms blown off and that says it all.  The News stastion were salivating over this war for a year before it even started and were all struck down with a severe case of bloodlust.  Then after reverentially watching the bombs his they suddenly have a conscience because of one boy caught up in it? Talk about force feeding the public what they should and shouldnt feel.
