  1. I've heard we are linked with 2 french guys Zidane and Dugarry.

I'd rather stick with tried and trusted British players like Flitcroft.

I've seen that ZZ guy play. He's utter rubbish. Believe me, within a couple of years he'll have disappeared to the murky depths of the Scottish 3rd division or somewhere similar

  2. "This morning we (IMUSA) have information the Arsenal-Rovers match could be moved from Cardiff as the total ticket allocation requested by the two clubs was 45,000."

Don't be silly, that would involve the FA using common sense.

Knowing them they would likely move it to Highbury or White Hart Lane.

No, using common sense would have meant them arranging to stage it somewhere else in the first place. A lot of people have booked hotel rooms and planes / trains / buses by now. The plane I have booked is non-refundable

Perhaps Lee could give us an update on the arrangements, or give us an idea when we are likely to hear more?

  3. So the BBC are definitely showing the Sat game, and get first pick??

Got to be us on Sunday then.

Going to be nice and cosey on the train to/from London

Can anybody find a link with confirmation of which game is on which date yet???

Or do you know when this is likely to be announced?

  4. It's certainly true that all BRFC supporters are going to feel the financial strain of supporting "the Lads" for possibly two visits to Hughes' old stomping ground, the Millenium Stadium.

What about trying to get a little supporter power going and sending an E-Mail to the FA at

    http://www.thefa.com/feedback

and suggesting that if three of the remaining teams are from the North, then it would make more sense to have the ties up this end of the country.

It would also make our trip to Cardiff for the final just a bit more special!!

A worthy cause, but probably far too late to change plans I'm afraid

  5. Very exciting if it's true, but I haven't seen anyone else running that story, so it could well just be speculation.

Bobby G said on the previous page that the Independent was reporting the same story.

doh! Pays to read back a page or 2.

Just hope we're still in the Premiership come summertime. Bellamy will be a great signing assuming Hughes can keep control of him

  6. Barry Fergsuon is simply a spineless, selfish, manipulative failure.  Good riddance.

    Spot on!

Anyone else got a blackburn shirt with Ferguson on the back? What the hell am I going to do with that...?!

what bout my username then better get it changed, How do i change it

What are you planning to change it to??

    May I suggest bazzathefailed ???

(Took me a while to think of that one as all the ones that came to mind at first broke mb rules about use of language!)

  7. rover.gif did rangers not have a share issue a few months ago tinykit.gif

Waggy, Rangers were £76m in debt. The share issue "only" raised £52m so they failed to raise the money they hoped for.

Actually that's the exact amount they planned to raise through the rights issue. Tut tut.

I seem to remember hearing that most of that moeny actually came direct from David Murray's pocket

  8. Blackburn have had their fair share of Scottish legends: Colin Hendry, Kenny Dalglish... even Graeme Souness!

Then there was Kevin Gallacher. A neat and tidy, nippy winger-come-striker, Gallacher was a truely enjoyable player to watch; gave defences the run around on many occasion that I watched him. A hat-trick back in the 96/97 season against Wimbledon was a highlight, particularly when he nicked the ball away from Neil Sullivan, who'd spilled his shot, and poked it into the net.

His partnership with Sutton was perhaps not the most prolific, but at least when the two of them were up front you knew there'd be chances and some level of excitement. In fact Gallacher's talent was perhaps more in laying on chances for others than it was taking them. He remains affectionately remembered wherever he played in football, from Dundee to Coventry, Blackburn to Newcastle. Gallacher was a great little player and, for me, rated above Sutton (although I may well be alone in that!)

Gallacher was also a very mild-mannered man, from what I remember of his time at Rovers, never got involved in the sort of dodgy escapades that now litter the world of football and are smeared across tabloid front-pages nationwide.

I've given my first vote to Shearer, but Gallacher is definitely worthy of the second striker's berth. Then we'd be cooking with GAS. tinykit.gif

(the original) Gally's got my vote

  9. Tonight the fans should only be concentrating on 2 things.

Welcoming the likes of mokoena, nelsen and savage for their first league home games and also getting behind the club and giving the wanderers some stick!!

Good point Hughesy, what will the new boys' impression be of the home support if they are booing one of their own players???

  10. Agree with some of the sentiments recently aired (e.g. RoverTheHill, YorkshireBlue)

I, like probably every other member of this message-board, was extremely disappointed by Bazza's transfer request- particularly the lack of ambition it seemed to show.

However, while he's still a Rovers player, we should all be behind him (or, if you can't do that, at least don't boo him).

At the moment it's not definite that he's going anywhere. Who knows, he might end up staying, settling down, and being our best player for the next few years.

Unlikely, yes, but if people get on his back, IMPOSSIBLE.

Also, booing Ferguson will have a negative effect on the WHOLE team, and we can't afford that to happen in the position we're in.

So, BACK HIM or SHUT UP please (if you vent your anger, keep it to this message-board)!
