Shouting ‘We want Venkys Out’ from my settee?

Pretty sure they know what the supporters think of them by now. They haven't set foot in the ground in a decade. Why give them your money?

At this point you can't convince me that this all hasn't been some elaborate money laundering scheme that's yet to come to light. There's no plausible explanation why they continue to hold on to the club.

Everything has always needed sign off from India. No one on the ground actually has any power.

Here’s something that I can’t square in my head. If we all agree that Venky’s don’t actually care about Rovers given it’s relatively small scope in their business portfolio, then why for the love of god, do they need to sign off on every micro football decision the club makes. I get the big stuff as it relates to money and their required expenditures to keep us running, but relatively small transfers? Hiring a manager or DoF? It boggles the mind as to why nobody has the authority to do that without their consent, given their lack of football knowledge, and apparently, interest.

Funny how people take a lack of excitement as failure, think people would prefer we sold players and scrambled round trying to get replacements in just because it would be more exciting

In reality if we get this Giles chappy in it’s been a very decent window for me

Not to mention we did most of our business early, which is what people on here usually moan about us not doing. Not sure what people were expecting, it's the injury situation that has caused the biggest problem, not the lack of transfer activity.

  4. As Bigdogsteelpointed pointed out, Rich Sharpe has said there's nothing in in the McGeough story. I know the word is around that recruitment had already started for next season, but can't see how we'd be buying or signing players before Mowbray's trip to India to determine his budget.

  5. According to the LT, despite Tugay's retirement from international football 4 years ago, he has been called up to the international squad by the new manager. MH is worried he will suffer from " burn out ".

Well maybe he should have bought another midfielder then, eh?

Must say, that's one of the very few things that Sparky has said that has ever annoyed me.

  6. Le Saux and Sutton didn't force us in to a position where we didn't get a proper fee for them though.

And how did Neill do that? He told us with a year left on his contract! Why didn't we sell him then? Hughes thought he could change his mind...

Look I'm happy the drama is over and I can understand that we're all bitter that someone doesn't want to play for our club anymore - fairplay - but to say he has done us wrong seems wide of the mark.

  7. I was all for Dunn coming back. I still am, but definately not for 2 million.

Bruce already shot himself (and his club) in the foot, with his idiotic statement. I suspect that Dunn will be back, but maybe not until the end of the window. I can see us (knowing Dunn wants to come back) making them wait a bit and putting them in a position to accept a relatively low fee in mid/late January.

There is no chance in hell they get 2 million. They have zero leverage. If they are that stupid, we can wait 6 months for him. Reid is coming back, and it will probably take him just as long to get match fit as it would Dunn.

  8. An appalling game from mr clattenburg who is normally very good for us.

Ooijer didn't have a great debut but he has only been with us a short time. IMO if they get that penalty then we should get the roberts one. Very good first half performance and the use of emerton and bentley on the right was magic and fantastic to watch.

Annoying not to get anything from that but a world class save and poor reffing cost us!

    Bring on Sheff Utd please!

Agree with most of this...Emerton looks like he has found his place. Whether he likes it or not, he's a right back, and he should be happy, 'cos if he plays that way all the time, he'll be in the side every week. I think Lucas should replace Gray at LB.

Ooijer looks like he has no answer for physically imposing players (Terry, Drogba). His reading of the game is okay, he' just not that physically gifted. Nelsen wouldn't have conceded either of those two goals.

Our final ball, and most of our play in the final third was sheer crap all day. With Reid and Savage in the middle, we just don't create anything. If we are gonna lump balls into the box like that, why didn't he bring Kuqi on? And why wasn't Peter even on the bench? When we spread the play wide, we were more effective, and Peter can at least beat someone and put a decent cross in.

  9.
