  1. Well I’ve no idea what’s going on. First of all there’s rumours of a ridiculous price increase coming up. Just because I’m not going to become an OAP next season it looks like I’m going to have to spend the same as this season on my new season ticket. Can’t the club stagger it a bit? EG when I reach 36 they reduce the amount I pay every year, say £30, until I become an OAP?

Then there’s the ridiculous amount of money the players get paid so I can watch them for free live from the pub every week. It’s scandalous. It’s enough to make me want to stick another tenner in the bandit.

Then the club move the Liverpool fixture when they have little choice and then they make the turnstiles break on purpose. And before all that there was the FA Cup Final tickets sham in 1960.

Not that I’m one to complain.

Anyway we’re just bound to lose. It's so obvious. Stead hasn’t scored all season. They haven’t won all season at home. We recently beat them 2-0 at Ewood. They’re on course to become the worst team in the history of the Premier league. We’re on a great run, Bellamy is on fire. We may even qualify for Europe.

Sunderland 9 - Rovers 0. Stead x6, Kevin Ball x2, Nyron Nosworthy x1. It’s all Savages fault for being suspended. I tried to warn you. Hughes out.

Bob, what do you do for a living? 'Cos you really should be writing a sit-com here in Hollywood.

  2. MGP is not playing tomorrow...he has talked with a norwegian newspaper and said:

"Mark Hughes wants me to be ready for wednesday. So I'm not playing on saturday"

I hope Sergio Peter is taking his place then..

The last time Hughes freshened him up, he responded with a goal, so hopefully he comes good against Sunderland.

With Tugay turning in some questionable performances lately I see:

    Friedel

    Neill Nelsen Todd Gray

    Bentley Reid Savage Emerton

    Kuqi Pongolle/Bellamy

Bench: Encks, Peter, Zurab, Pongolle/Bellamy, Tugay

  3. For those of you who decided to stay at home, listen to the radio or whatever let me just say this

you missed the best game at Ewood for many a year.

I watched it on TV and the crowd sounded absolutely brilliant....when we were 4-1 up, i really thought we might stuff the 5 or 6-1. The way the were coming unglued at the back. Great sub at half-time to bring Emerton on...really caused them problems.

Hope the lads enjoy tomorrow and then get onpreparing for West Brom. It would undo all the sweetness of this win if the dropped points to the Baggies.

    YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!

  4. Big mistake in judgment that we didnt bring in cover in attack earlier (not sure if we will sign someone anyway), but this has possibly cost us two cup games.

It's not like bringing someone in is as easy as clicking a few buttons on Championship Manager. Between the time Dickov got hurt, and Bellamy broke down in training which was all less than 4 days before the Man U game, we would have had to:

    1) identify the target

    2) negotiate with club

    3) negotiate with player/agent

    4) have a medical

That doesn't come together in minutes or hours....I'm sure it's not for lack of trying, and it's a shame that it hasn't come off, but we're all being overly critical and reactionary towards the situation.

  5. Smith seems to think that give Savage a whack and then he doesn't do much, and I'm starting to agree with him.

Disappointed to lose, but we were never outclassed.

Anybody see this picture of Savage and Ferdinand on the official site...looks like he's about to ###### himself...if Savage had some balls, first 10 mins at Ewood he should nut Smith and Ferdinand with a "stray elbow", just to show he's not going away.

    Mommy?

  6. I know that but its happened too many times in the past where we get knocked out of both cups in quick succession and the league form just drops off

thats why a win on saturday is vital - to show we really are made of stronger stuff now

    378107[/snapback]

yes, but in years past we were out of both cups EARLY, not after long runs that give confidence to the squad and HELP our form...don't think the lads will let it slide...probably a good thing that we have another cup game straight away...

  7. 0-0 game, really unlucky to lose but can't complain about the application (To use a Hughes word)

Positives are that Utd will be without Smith and possibly Giggs for the league game, and also the game emphasised how much we need another striker, so that might just edge Hughes into the market with a tab more urgency.

Also, we need United to beat Wigan in the final as it will mean an extra european place for the league.

agree with all three points you've made...Hughes has already stated he's looking, I suspect something in on loan will be coming...I don't think he wants to buy outright until the summer, which makes sense.

Don't think there is too much to hang our heads about...obviously disappointing but if Bellers is fit for Saturday, lets go get at win at Upton, and kickstart another unbeaten run.
