And in the last 5 mins most of the above is obsolete.. Burnley equalise, Reading win and the fact millwall lost is all good. Sunderland will slip up soon. A draw tomorrow keeps us in the mix. A win and we are back in the top 6

Looks as though a plan B supported by forest already in the works.
Why is this taking so long to draw a line under it?
Just a rehash of Nixon’s story on Sunday

I can't disagree with any of this
I think this is exactly what happened, the evil overlords definitely scuppered the deal last minute after putting the player though Medical, media, contract negotiations. No way they would have just said ‘no we can’t afford him’ earlier in the day. They were adamant they would waste the player, his agent, Nottingham forest and as many people as possible’s time just to make it look like it could have happened…

Smells of strategically trying to influence a change of opinion within the supporter base.
They know his article will come on here.
They also know many of us use twitter and will tweet this out to followers, which will get retweeted, then suddenly its the EFL's pettyness at fault.
Fair play, with the video today and these leaks, its certainly having an affect.
However i aint buying it, and maintain we need to remove all responsible including broughton. At £160k a year, an important window, a circa 200 million jackpot if we go up. He should of personally overseen the operation. Its 2 days a year he needs to be there ensuring its slick. No he was at the match, leaving others to do it.
His statement of "i was there at the medical, is devious, to plant a seed he was in the thick of it. Truth is he may have been at the medical but chose to go and watch the match.
So he left Manchester at 9ish to
watch the match? In Birmingham

Purely guess work by Nixon how would he have this info?? Ok he's a journalist but he might have realised, as GB stated, "external" & "internal" issues/factors that may never be released.
I mean that’s some odd guess

Having read the decision in this arbitration case from 2020, I think it may come down to which document wasn't filed before the deadline and how soon after the deadline it was filed. The guidance (page 10 of the arbitration decision) says that a club will be deemed to have met the deadline if the EFL office receives the appropriate registration or loan form before the deadline. Other related documentation (e.g. transfer agreements, contracts) can be submitted late provided the EFL office receives them "immediately following" the deadline. The guidelines also say that the transfer agreement/contract must have been agreed before the deadline though.
Surely the registration is the one they would have filed first and on time…: surely

It’s 5pm. It’s not happening. Have you ever seen a transfer agreed the next evening after a window shuts. Nope doesn’t happen. My guess is they’re just sat there trying to find out what the hell to put out PR wise

Could it not go through just as a "loan" deal then in that case if all partys were happy?
Was thinking just this. Agree the loan bit that went through on time and then negotiate the next bit 1st June. Need forest to agree I suppose but better than the player not playing

Lenihan: 5m
Nyambe: 2.5m
Rothwell: 5-8m
Brereton: 15-20m
Total: 27.5-35.5m in assets walking for nothing.
Compound that with flogging Arma and Raya it's absolutely horrific.
Combined cost 6.4 million
(6 of which was brereton)
Arma profit 11ish
Raya profit 3mill plus add ons (think we got another 500k ish for his Spanish cap)
all of the above on 8k a week or less

in terms of BBD stick him on 25k a week on a 2 year deal and in a 12 million buyout clause, clubs will stump that if he hits 20 again. He gets to play international football for doing well with us and he's still only 23

If the window does end up being a disaster I want this broughton chap gone (and Venkys also obv ). I was genuinely excited by how he spoke but this no interview (or even a reassuring statement or comment on website) is p@ssing me off. I don't care that other DOF at other clubs don't comment, most are established and get the job done, he's new and you couldn't shut him up the first week or two.

Everton are after the Southampton lad

He said 'Everton are also working on Ben Brereton Díaz deal - Lampard has to decide if he wants him or not. #EFC'
covering all bases there. Working on? But yet waiting for the manager to decide?

So just to confirm that neither club have said feck all about a bid and we are all losing our minds because an under used out of date Scottish journalist who blocks you the minute you question his 'judgement' posted an emoji...

However his decision making against (Preston was it?) Lost us the game and got us relegated?
One player losing a ball in the corner in one match wasn't the reason we got relegated

Van hecke going Sunderland confirmed

With it confirmed that Brittain and Phillips are likely to be fit for Wednesday (and it prob 15 degrees cooler) I don't think we need someone in before then but do think by the end of the week we will. We must do all we can to keep BBD or after the last two week's goals and performance accept 25m minimum and tell suitors they have till next Monday to bid or no deal.

Load of deals don’t get over the line due to errors or lateness due to things being last minute. If forest had told us the day before issue would have been different. We are incompetent but no one is going to claim huge wages because a transfer breaks down. Just doesn’t happen. We will no doubt be stung for some legal fees for the EFL though
