  1. just for the record does anyone know if rovers have shifted all the allocation that they have at united? i have a tickets already so im just curious

Apparently at 15:00 today there where only 8 tickets left, which my brother purchased 3 (change of work plan tomorrow), unfortunately all singles so we are scattered a bit.

  2. I have mixed opinions about GS, yes he did a good job for us, but on the other hand left us in a bit of a mess.

He is now a manager of another club which we play, my heart is with Rovers and I'm still there, so I will show no sympathy or respect to him on Sunday!

A chant like "Thank you very much for taking Souness" to the tune of the roses advert wouldn't go amiss, surely impress the travelling geordies.

As for the game they've been beaten again today and are not looking too clever, i think it will be a very close game hopefully rovers edging it 2-1.

  3. I can't remember who's quote this is (or similar to this):-

"Football clubs have been around for over a 100 years and we are only custodians of them for a short while, as long as you leave it in a better postion than you found it, then you've done ok!"

and Tony did that every time!

  4. I am sad to see Tony go, he has been part of the club for as long as I have supported them, the way he has been dismissed is a disgrace.

Other than a few good luck message posted on here, is there any other way the fans can show there appreciation for the loyal Rovers man himself?

    Good luck Tony!

  5. JW and the board seem to be running the club a lot better these days, so I'm fairly hopeful that we will get someone we are all happy with.

I agree with the first bit, JW also seems capable of handling the Press.

But I'm pretty sure whoever we bring in, somebody will be able to find fault!

  6. I wonder which current Premiership managers could be interested in the job, My guess would be;

Redknapp (big fall out with manderic in the Summer)

    Dowie (bigger club than Palace....just)

    Curbs (just dreaming)

    plus

    Worthington

    Moyes

    Megson

all at clubs which have been tipped for relegation.

  7. You don't think that he's just going to stay completely away the whole week and have no involvement at all ! This is Souness we are talking about !

He desperately needs to start his career there with a win to quieten some of the unrest over his appointment. I think he'll be doing whatever he can to help improve the odds of that happening.

I have no doubt that Newcastle, if they didn't know already, will know all the ins and outs on how to beat Rovers by Saturday.

Or am I more cynical than I thought I was.

No I didn't think he would stay away, but he his on "Garden Leave" which my understanding is that he is still paid by Rovers unitl the weekend.

Therefore I would hope Rovers have something to say about this!

and I fully agree with the rest of your comments!

  8. In the past when players leave without submitting a transfer request, an arrangement is usually made in regards to compensation for the rest of their contract.

The stories coming out of Scotland implied that Celtic where going to take over the remainder of his contract hence no compensation.

    Birmingham paid a fee.

    The question are:-

Did Yorke submit a Transfer Request?

Have Rovers paid him compensation regarding the remainder of his contract?
