  1. I think it's possible for Rovers to stay in the Premiership but maybe not compete for mid table. Of course it requires the right combination of home grown talent, manager, and transfers to get into the league and picking up a few key players once there to maintain status in top flight but it is possible (at least as things are right now). As transfers continue to get more and more outrageous it could mean that adding key players to compete for mid table is impossible but certainly could strive to stay in the premier league.  I don't know if it's a great example and someone can correct me if I am wrong but I think it cost Newcastle over 100 million pounds to go from relegation in December 2021 to mid table today.

Wouldn't be surprised if we see a new crest ourselves in the next few years... hopefully we don't do a Leeds.

i could see this too.  maybe alter the colours and change how "art et labour"  is written at the bottom of the crest.

  3. Far Cry was terribly slow without installing it. After installing it the game was tolerable, although I can see how the loading screens become annoying. I didn't like the main character at first but the more I progressed through the game the more I liked him - still not as cool as Drake from Uncharted.

Now to finish Arkham City finally.

  4. Just finished Far Cry 3 the other day, would highly recommend. The single player campaign has a great story, the gameplay is fun and the graphics are awesome. There is a co-op mode also with different levels from the single player and even after you finish the game there is tons of additional side missions similar to GTA to keep you entertained. I have nothing bad to say about this game.

  5. Hi all,

I've been reading this message board for a few years now (since 2003). Since nobody likes Rovers where I live (a bit of an overstatement) it's nice to have a forum to read others' opinions and on occasion vent/ramble/rant.

    Hometown: Toronto, ON, CA

    Age: 30

What do I want to do when I grow up: IT something or other

    Rovers games attended: 2

Rovers kits: 93/94 Home and Away, 2003 Home, 2006 Home

Support local sports teams here, notably Toronto FC, Blue Jays, Leafs, and Bills in the NFL. As you can see I don't do much celebrating when it comes to sports.

  6. Alot - width, the ability to beat a man, good crossing ability, a goal threat from the left. All depending on whether the coaching/physio staff feel they can get him back to his best. It is hard from our positions in front of our computer screens to make that judgement.

Incidentally as a side topic - how many careers have been destroyed at St James' park? There are quite a lot of good players who have gone in there decent and come out pretty terrible. This is just a taster list I am sure:

    Dyer

    Bramble

    Parker

    Smith

    That French defender guy...

    Emre

    Luque

    Bellamy

What is it they do to the players? Beat them with night sticks upon ariival? Chain them in cells? Put morphine in their squash? Such a waste of talent.

If I was an up and coming player I would look at that place and think "hmmm... maybe not such a good idea to rock up there and lose all credibility as well as my fitness"

Imagine if they had bought Rooney instead of united as they were threatening to do. England would be screwed....

Seems a couple have caught on by electing to go the (only) slightly smaller circus at White Hart Lane.

hahaha nice list, you might be able to add Owen's name there soon.

  7. Im not too dissapointed with the result on Saturday. Blackburn had a few good chances and just couldn't capitalize on them. MGP hit the post, and McCarthy had a header opportunity and a one timer from Tugay that just wasn't on target. Things that angered me slightly was united trying to get a penalty in the box by diving, good on the ref for spotting that, though in situtaions like that perhaps it would be best to charge the diver with an offense to shut up the united fans. Poor defense was some of the cause for the united goal but all in all I think Rovers had a good chance of coming up on top.

Haven't been too impressed with nonda yet, hope to see him improve soon. Also like many have stated i wouldn't mind seeing gally as a sub in some of these games.
