  1. The shirts are designed by someone at Rovers. I seem to recall that the person to designed the kits for the previous two seasons tweeted that they had stepped down from the role and that the news shirts would be designed by someone else. Macron can definitely do reversed halves on the back, as the new Crystal Palace shirt has them, so it must be a case of the designer not implementing them into the design.

It's probably something that needs to be brought up at the fans forum so that it can hopefully be used in next seasons shirts, although the designs may have already been selected as the are chosen a year in advance.

I've tried a couple of times to use the Message Centre to query an online order that I made in the Roverstore. I send the message, but the query doesn't appear to be listed in the Message Centre. I've sent a couple of messages over the last week without reply. Has anybody used it with success before?

I tried using it the other day and had the same result. Nothing listed in the 'Message Centre' other than the option to create a new query. There is another 'Contact Us ' section at the bottom of the page where you have to state your name and email address. You could try that and see if you have more luck with that.

Those are all, 100%, the kits.

A very simple question for those of you that meet with Steve Waggott, which he should be able to answer:

When other kits are produced, they’re sent with the sponsor already printed to the shirt. Why is ours different?

I’d love to know his reply.

It's so the club can print the sponsor off centre...

I would imagine the reasoning this year I'd due to the sponsor not being finalised until recently. It could also because the Ladies team has a different sponsor so it's easier to send blank shirts and print them accordingly.

Why are you being so defensive about it?

Just a prediction that's all, as a one off on the early 90s it was ok.

When was the last time our sponsor wasn't in black?  Just feel like it would be nice to have a change.

I apologise if it sounded that way but but it was just a prediction of how the kit may look. After all, we had a remake of the yellow kit from the play-off final from that season so it would never surprise me if we were to get a remake of the home kit from that season this season.

I think the last time we didn't have the sponsor in black on the home shirt was when Dafabet sponsored us.

Easy, make the kit look right with the halves on the side they should be

I think they'll revert back to the traditional way next season. When home kits have been released in the past, there are usually comments about it looking exactly the same as a previous kit, so having the halves the way they are this season stops that and may increase sales as a result of it.

In regards to the third kit, I'm wondering if this is why the club turned down Ribero's offer to repreoduce the play-off kit, as they alreadyhad plans to have a remake of it this season and didn't want to harm sales.

  6. I would imagine the reason we need a third kit for tomorrow is down to the home kit being all blue on one side and the away being all black on one side which would both be deemed to clash with Millwall's kit. I would fully expect us to wear it against both Stoke and Sheffield United too.

Third kits are pretty much standard for all teams now, whether they need them or not. Norwich always release pointless third kits, and Crystal Palace have a released a pointless third kit this season too as have Brentford.

The only thing that concerns me about the new kit is that is doesn't mention that it will available to buy online, which would extremely inconvenient.

Are the changing rooms shut all the time or was it just a one off on that day?

I am a medium in the previous 2 seasons so expecting I’d need large but you never know….anyone in M in Umbro last year and need L for the same fit in the Macron?

I had medium for all the Umbro shirts and last seasons shirts were fairly close fitting for me. I bought the new shirts in large and they are slightly bigger than the medium Umbro's were.

Palace recently decided that they were actually founded back in 1861 and not 1905 as they had claimed for the last 100+ years.

I don't know the ins and outs of it but it seems someone has managed to find a link to the original Crystal Palace team and that's enough for them to claim status as one of the oldest clubs in the world.

Whether it is actually true or not I doubt they care as it seems to be all about proving that they are older/more historical than their London rivals.

The original Crystal Palace were founded in 1861 and were dissolved in 1876. Although both teams were founded by the same company, how they can claim to have existed for 160 years when for 29 of those years they didn't exist is bizarre to say the least. It seems they want to be recognised for something as they have no major trophies to their name.

It's now looking like our game v Leeds is not on LUTV.

All 4 of their upcoming friendlies starting with Rovers are now scheduled for LIVENow.com in a package deal, which is of no interest to me.

I hope Google will be my friend if Rovers aren't.

You can buy them separately. Our game is £4.99.

  10. It's a nice shirt. I would have preferred though it if the sleeve colours were reversed and the halves on the back were reversed. Having the way it is though does mean that it's a fair bit different to what we've had before. Given that Macron change the design in some way for all their kits, I can see the away having a different collar at the very least.

The embossed rose is a very nice touch though.

is the Alternate kit not the ladies team

Alternate is what third kits are now known as. It wouldn't surprise me if we have a third/alternate kit even if it's not needed. Pretty much every club in the world does it and we were one of the few to not have one every season.

Norwich always seem to have third/alternate kits that aren't needed and Newcastle seem to do it a lot too.

A few seasons back Everton had a third kit that was only needed for their away game against Crystal Palace. The trouble was that it was the first game of the season and the kit hadn't been released at that point so they had to wear their away kit from the previous season.

  12. There's a few things that make me think it isn't real.

The Macron logo on the sleeve is too low down compared to every other Macron made shirt. Plus it only appears to be on one sleeve as opposed to both.

The Macron logo on the front seems too small compared to the other shirts they have made.

The little box in the bottom right corner isn't a Macron thing. They usually use a line of text saying 'MPerformanceSystem'.

  13. It seems like a lot of teams are struggling for pre-season friendlies, and most clubs are staying in the UK, including all bar three Premier League clubs.

If you didn't think we were playing many, Brighton only have one currently scheduled and Chelsea, Man City and Southampton only have two scheduled.

    https://www.premierleague.com/news/2161724

I guess that if nearly everyone is staying in the UK, trying to find teams to play on dates that suit both clubs is going to be slightly more difficult than usual.
