    QUOTE (ihateburnley @ Jan 10 2005, 16:20 )

    If it takes relegation to be be able to watch my beloved Rovers more often, then so be it.

    You have got to be kidding right? huh.gif

    Either that or you have completely justified my earlier point about small town mentalities.

    lol. ive just realsied that i actually went to more games in div 1 than i did any other season since the 95/96 season.

    Having said that, im a student in Leeds and last season only managed the one game - at Elland Rd.Gutted that fixtures gone. My main reason for not going isnt price of this particular match, when i next go to Ewood it will probably when there is a game i feel iwill enjoy the most- Im thinking the Bolton game- a close one with the fans passionate to win. However if i hadnt had to wait till today for the old student loan i would have preferred to go to Cardiff,as i would have preferred to stand.

  2. I am not, but just thought it was quite interesting of a club(especially being in the prem) to have a neutral section.Do any other clubs have this?I know in Rugby Union international(dont know about rugby league cause i dont watch that rubbish) the whole stadium is neutral

    In Germany each club has another club to wich they have some sort of alliance. i forget most of them but FC Bayerns is Koln for example, and scarfs are available with both teams on etc. I have witnessed Koln vs Bayern and they have massive areas that are neutral, all kinds of pre and post match entertainment and general merriment. Shame they cant pull it off in England, wonder whos Rovers would be?

  3. i think someone mentioned toshack, good idea but i think he may have had some problems recently in his personal life.

    as for Hitzfeld, he did an amazing job at Bayern, im not sure he would want to come to Rovers, he did seem very proud of his position at FC Bayern.

    As for Shearer, yes please. After recent games decisions i am SURE image is now everything in football. Shearer has a great image within the media, even though a lot of players hate him. I think with the world watching, it would be a great move. Maybe then referees would not spend the last 15 mins of our games against the bigger clubs (Utd anyone?) worrying that its their fault the unfancied side is ahead and making ridiculous decisions.

    i also remember Shearer being able to win Penalties.

    What would the situation be with regards to compensation etc if we did sign him? Would Newcastle be due any if he was taken on as Manager only?? Could we try a sneaky one and try and get a season on the field out of him?

    As for Parkes, id love to see him given a shot, he totally deserves it. However i would hate to see him ever have to leave the club, and obviously if it didnt work out he would have to go.... i imagine hes thought of this, as has Williams.

    Houllier is a definate no no. Liverpool have the support to fund paying wasters. We dont.

    i backed your boys to win this tournament, i couldn't really explain why but now i've read your post it sums it up perfectly.

    @english people

    i am half english half german. i follow germany in terms of sporting teams and events, and my reason for this is the ridiculous attitude taken towards sport, especially football, in this country. most of the english people i have spoken to about these championships told me they thought that germany seriously had a chance. now i can tell you i have been VERY surprised by germanys performances over this tournament, but not in the same way as the critics - im stunned that we managed to produce football of the sheer quality that we have (first half vs holland, second vs czech). if you've seen some of the crap games wave endured for the last two years that was a serious step forward. i will admit i thought the only team to go through we could have beaten was the danes, so i was hoping sweden would beat them..

    what im trying to say in a strange sort of way is get over it, England did not invent football, your team is not, and has no right to be (as do NO other teams) permanently in the top ten rankings, and not only are some of the things the football related media say extremely inaccurate, a lot of them are quite xenophobic as well. i hope you beat Portugal, and Sweden get to stuff you.
