someone on twitter thinks they've found jdt's burner account.. going through the replies, it's really quite the thing. suggests it's either him, someone close to him or a deranged obsessive

I still think he expected to get a new contract and the players contracts sorted. I think Derby were used to try to get what he wanted but it all went wrong. I bet he didn’t see ‘that’ press release coming at all.
i think this is an interesting angle people seem to have missed so far. having recently rewatched the damned united and being reminded of clough's attempts to do the same at derby, it had me wondering if something along those lines was the point of all this and it simply went pear-shaped for him

i can't lie, once i got used to the idea of a three-man split in the director of football job, i quite liked the ingenuity of it. three different people with different strengths, knowledge, contacts, experience and expertise; two younger, more modern footballing brains in gestede and owen, the former being more focused on the business side, while the latter looks after the staffing, statistical and physical/fitness side, with the transfer and recruitment taken care of by a proper, proven veteran in park.
thought it was properly out the box and all three had different knowledge-bases to offer the scouting department. owen was the one aware of ohashi, while park could use his past experience in recruiting japanese players to get it done and also find germain too; gestede knowing of gueye, park knowing he could pick up cantwell cheap etc. etc. i really felt there was promise to it after that first rushed window of bedding it all in.
if true about eustace and park falling out, i'd love to see the latter come back a third time, despite how ridiculous and unlikely that might be.

a John Park return would be utterly fascinating. surely not a cat in hell's chance?

He was pretty clear with what he wanted and they didn't deliver.
I think eventually he saw that the root cause of this was the owners and decided to leave.
He's every right to have a do at them as far as I'm concerned.
did any of us actually want what he wanted though? some of the names supposedly coming from him were past it and / or dire. patrick bamford???

This lad has been top class this year. Absolutely brilliant. Quiet and understated, just gets on with his job effectively and efficiently. You hardly notice he's on the pitch at times. Zero drama, very low maintenance and a threat at the other end. Which strikers have terrorised us this year? Few and far between. I really rate him.
agreed. think he's thrived this season. wonder if that relates to travis coming back and dom being able to step back out of the limelight a bit? it's interesting he isn't second or even third captain above buckley; it'd make sense if he asked to focus on his game this year and it's now bearing fruit

Cunts?
Also, if anything they are a Virus, they insinuated themselves into a healthy viable host and slowly poisoned it until it is a decaying husk.
not to rock the boat, but is that not the definition of... a parasite? i do get what plastics is saying, but fear they might have read a little more into something than was necessary. and while i understand the point being made, i don't see someone putting the word on a protest banner to describe the venkys as a direct tunnel to fascism either

thought this was dead good and represented us well. we all know most of it, i know, but it's so nice to see it actually written in a decent national paper

Someone posted earlier today (can't remember who) that Travis apparently refused a meeting with JE this morning.
👀👀 if that's true then it lends far more credence to the talk about Eustace's team liking to put his name about on the sniff for better money.

that statement is oddly aggressive. getting the ducks in a row due to a technicality in the NDA, or lack thereof?

Wouldn't surprise me if this was the end of our transfer business and the old excuses will be out from groucho marx that we tried but couldn't deliver
waggott could only dream of Groucho's business acumen

I think he just needs to settle in somewhere and he'll rediscover himself.
Would be delighted if we brought him in, we should try and sell Buckley to make room and contribute towards something like this... but they won't, as that would make sense and cost the overlords a few quid.
feel like the overlords wouldn't want to sell buckley over some bizarre fan upset logic purely to do with him having a chant. seems really odd to me that they've never seemingly tried to shift him considering how little he plays. bittersweet he only ever gets to hear that chant when he's warming up, must be an odd feeling for him

He didnt tear it up when he was at Boro on loan
that lad has been forced to have such an odd career with that Forest move. doesn't surprise me he can only impress in the MLS at the moment; he's constantly moving and uprooting every 6 months or so, he's never gonna settle. he'd make an odd signing for me now; he'd be here a few months, then back to Forest, then off somewhere else again. no player is gonna find decent form when they're forced to live and play in such a way

Glad to see he's doing well. I thought he was hard done to here, but two separate managers didn't fancy him so it is what it is.
always wondered if it was more he just didn't settle and wanted to go home

what on earth is going on with this lad? is there some itk knowledge? it seems like he's nearly always ill or injured, which reeks of a fallout to me. it's a shame, i really had hopes he could kick on here after his sparky early season appearances.
-
could've seen this coming a mile off. you can't split the dof role into three and not expect a power struggle.
i'm assuming this means a). gestede feels his hands are tied and wants more responsibility over incomings, and b). park was made promises about his role when he returned that he feels have been broken.
you can't go from being the lead on transfer dealings in the vein of a director of football back to more of a chief scout role. park seems like someone who can read a room and has zero qualms about doing something about it. can't imagine he's pleased if the club is backing someone as inexperienced as gestede over someone with his experience and transfer nouse.

New lad has been away on international duty, JE will have barely seen him in training. Can't see him starting for a few weeks yet.
(Just to be clear, I think Pears is dreadful and would have him out of net asap)
it would be a damning indictment of Pears if JE did drop him after these next two weeks of training for someone who he's barely seen, returning from international duty
